I haven’t been on in a while, but had quite a few acquisitions recently Limited Edition Coronation in Synthetic:
Hey everybody, and thank you for this thread. I have an almost special birthday coming up and I have decided to get another brush. After a lot of research and a lot of reading later, it is going to be the Commodore X3, Ithink. I am a face shaver, I like the specs, my only concern is the splay. The Duke 3 is in second place. So it will be one of these 2 I just can’t “handle” looking at another brush .
I don’t have the Commodore. But I have 10 Simpson brushes from giant to small, and I can tell you that the Duke 3 is probably my favorite brush of all. It’s got a magic to it that balances perfectly the right amount of splay, density and backbone. I seem to grab for it as soon as I know it’s fully dry from my last use. It’s the Simpson I never want to part with. Happy birthday!
Wow, has this been a tough process which began with me saying I really need to have a Simpson brush at least start a collection with one. Then I ran into a vulfix 375 that I could have for a song and maybe I still will. That’s the problem there’s never enough. I also read somewhere that the Vulfix super is the same as the Simpson best. I don’t know anymore.. But based on everything that I have read and the thoughts and opinions that you folks have given me on what the brushes might be good or not so good with I am proud to announce that I will be ordering a Simpson Duke 3 for birthday number 58.
Hey folks. Can anybody suggest a sponsor that I can get this from. I think West Coast is responsible for their pricing is crazy and ordering it from Europe is pricey also. Thanks folks.
I'm also itching for a new badger. I have a berk 46 that I enjoy (as far as natty brushes go) but I'm thinking I'd like something slightly bigger with slightly more splay. Duke ll in best, perhaps?
