I'm wondering just what is it that causes that Badger stench?
But more so, why is it that no matter how much you shampoo it, rinse it, soap it, yell at it, etc. the smell just doesn't go away for a long time. Can anyone answer?

The only thing I found that worked halfway good was Tide Laundry detergent. Read it has Enzymes in it.

I've never noticed any smell from my badger brushes.
My boar brushes... my Omega 49 took a full month of shaving every day before the smell was gone.

I saw the destink thread before. Borax doesn't help with the smell for me, only to renew the brush from soap scum.

OxiClean helps, but use (many latherings) will eventually reduce the stink.

I just tried some Oxi Clean Stain Remover that Whipped Dog included and it worked great.
The water was a disgusting light brown when it came out.

Maybe i'll use that from now on...

Whenever I get a particularly "tart" brush I've used the tried and trued method of loading the brush with an overly abundant dose of soap/lather and leaving it to dry for a day. When ready to use rinse out and load as normal. Very rarely has this not worked with one dose.

You failed to appease the spirit of the Badger God. He looked down upon you and smote your brush with Badger stench.

Or, that particular badger slept through health class and never learned the importance of proper hygiene practices.

Gee, you make it sound like badgers sleep underground and eat burrowing rodents.

I use the Oxi Clean method recommended by Larry at Whipped Dog. It works great.

I don't yet have a badger brush, but a few washes with my dog's shampoo and a lathering with shave soap worked well on my board brush.
