Interesting you say that-when I use my Barbershop soap, I find Clubman Pinaud A.S. works quite well with it.
Now that we're back to the cold weather that is expected, I'll do another couple runs with the Spice next week. I do need to go easier on the Aftershave though....what a burn!
Get some menthol crystals and add at your pleasure. A big bag is about $7 on Amazon. If I buy straight from Rod then I get menthol added by him but if I find some splashes on a BST thread and they don't have menthol then I'll add some crystals on my own.
update-I recently had a sample of it.....Guess I was kinda neutral on it, but leaning a little toward liking it.
I was just thinking about the crystals. I'll see what happens with the "a little goes a long way" philosophy, first, to see if that works.
Add a couple, try it, not cold enough? Add more. Super easy and cheap. Plus, you can split a bottle up, mentholate half, and not the other half. Sky’s the limit.
Believe it or not I'm scared to try adding menthol crystals to anything. I might overdo it and wind up in the hospital!
That's half the fun, lol! It's just trial and error. Need to add a little at a time. I finally got the right amount in my Pinaud Clubman AS. Its Glacial level now Still working on my Stirling Bergamot Lavender AS Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
One thing I don't advise anyone to add any extra menthol to is a Glacial soap or witch hazel. The results can be devastating. I can still never forget how my brother-in-law suffered when he tried my Obsidian soap - you had to hear him groaning in agony. I told him "Finish your shave and don't waste that lather because I'll kick your sorry butt!" lolllllll
I'm sorry, that ending is hilarious, but I really feel bad for him. I can't imagine how painful that was Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
My kids gave me Clubman for Christmas. I like it quite a lot. Definitely a keeper. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
My 1st official SOTD at home after a long vacation. And what better way to celebrate a "welcome home" shave than with @stirlingsoap ! I used a synthetic omega for the past 3 weeks so a boar was much needed, lol! The Fatboy gave a great shave, but took a bit to find the right angle. I need to use this more. Gin and Tonic is such a wonderful citrus scent, I highly recommend it Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
