Found 3 containers for a $1.00 at Big lots. Sterling sample pucks fit in them perfect. Deep enough to get some great lather going. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Any colder than this and my face would have disintegrated - that's how cold the Glacial Wintergreen soap, balm, and witch hazel are. The Arctique isn't exactly warm either! Lolllll
Monday morning Stirling Soap Co. shave with the newly arrived Glastonbury set. Love it! Just finished up a Piacenza soap sample and absolutely agree with you on the scent. It is absolutely fantastic and is my next Stirling Soap Co. set purchase.
That one has a sneaky freeze to it. The glacials tend to smack me in face, but Arctique goes on cool then builds to a face numbing cold, at least to me.
I have seen YouTube videos of guys doing only 1 swirl on the puck (with brands other than Stirling) and able to get enough lather for a 3 pass shave. I am going to give this a try on tomorrows shave but I will do 5 swirls total. Does anyone else want to join me in this experiment? Basically this is for face lathering. What you do is drench your synthetic brush in water and then squeeze out all the water and then load the puck by swirling only 5 times total on the puck and then face lather. Hopefully I can get at least 5 of you guys on board for this experiment during tomorrows shave and please report back your results if you where able to do a complete shave without having to return to the puck to load more soap.
Thats great, I recommend you to put a little water on the puck (less than half of a tablespoon) and then use your thumb to squish the soap flat so that it expands to reach all the way to the sides of the container. Else water will be in contact with the sides during each shave and your puck will disintegrate alot faster than normal. Hell yeah, I love Piacenza. I remember when I got the balm and put it on..... I could not stop smelling my face and even used a newspaper as a fan to blow the scent at my own nose so I could keep smelling it. So yeah, I totally love that scent. I got the alcohol splash also and its one of my favorites, takes a backseat to only Baker Street and Executive Man. Those are my top 3 Stirling scents.
I like Piacenza a lot too - the fragrance is Acqua di Parma Colonia and Stirling does a darned good job replicating it. My latest order has some coconut lime in it - shave and bath soap. Great warm weather scent except that it's actually snowing here in Knoxville on April 16th... Cheers, Steve
Reminds me of last night: I started to load the Iced Pineapple, then remembered how good it smells with Lime Coconut, so I scraped some of that and some of the pineapple into a bowl, added some M-Bomb for good measure, and Oh Man, what a great lather. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Thanks for the suggestion. I haven’t tried mixing scents yet. It sounds a lot like another rabbit hole.
Hi I am looking for advice about Stirling bath soap (bar soap). Is it better to use it with a washrag or to apply it directly to the skin?
Actually, I apply it directly...but outside of the shower. I use it as a hand-soap at the sink. I tried it in the shower, but had one of those "steel-wool" type wash rags, finding that I had difficulty applying it to the rag so as to get it on my skin.
