Can you Menth-heads help answer a question for me? How many grams of menthol crystals do I need to add to a splash for Glacial level? I recently took advantage of the deals on City Slicker and Stirling for Him, but I forgot to get menthol added. I need to fix that, lol! I usually just start adding crystals, but I'd like to try a different approach and was wondering if anyone here has any advise for me. Thanks all!
y'know, I had to chuckle at his mention of...as he put it...."cologne dupes". But that is exactly what they are.
I put four 3/8”-1/2” crystals in a Stirling bottle to put it in the ballpark with “iced” or “chill” splashes. I double that for Glacial. I think I am a little heavy in comparison, but it works.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to announce Nomination #2 for the 2019 Stoylin Tony Awards. You'll recall that the first nomination went to Gentleman across the board(both the shave soap and the aftershave). Now here is Nomination #2: Shave Soap-Naked&Smooth Aftershave-Sharp Dressed Man. See ya on Labor Day for #3 .
I am surprised you went for an unscented soap. Interesting choice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I just figured, even if unscented, if it is of Stoylin strength, slickness, etc...must be quite good. Also frees up for a choice of any aftershave.
Tried Iced Pineapple for the 1st time this morning... my 1st menthol ever. Don't know if it was just my sample but it was weaker than I expected. Smell was fantastic though. Not sure what to sample next, any suggestions? I don't like mints and wintergreen.
I have the Unscented but with Beeswax and think it's fantastic. I use it the same way Paul does to free up to use any aftershave without clashes. Great choice Paul but I must say that I too was somewhat surprised. Now on to Labor Day for the next Tony!
Shadow Shave Iced Pineapple has plenty of menthol for me (but I'm probably a wuss when it comes to menthol). Totally agree with you that the scent is fantastic.
Finished up with Glacial Lemon Chill. Highly recommend. It’s not weak or subtle and still clearing out my sinuses with lemony menthol goodness 15 minutes later. Careful what you wish for...
That's right John....Here's a hint....I might...MIGHT....MIGHT...do another unscented, but I'm not telling if it will be soap or A.S. Have fun guessing!
How about Lime? I had that as a sample, and liked it enough to consider a full bottle later in "life".
An FYI for anyone interested.....Stoylin Blu shave soap is sold out. I'm sure there will be another bunch coming in at some point.
Still clearin em out, eh? I have to say I'm settled in with the Glacial Wintergreen by now. As you may recall from a previous post, I described my reaction the first few times I tried it: OOOOOOOHHHHEEEEEEYEOOOOWWWW!!!

How do you like Stirling for Him? To me it is pleasant but very light... reminds me of this Avon powder my mom used to make me wear when I was little called "Wild Country ". My little ones really like it.
I like it. I also find it a lighter scent and actually to me the soap is more strongly scented then the AS. All but faint wisps of scent were gone after 30 minutes. The dry down was a bit powdery but not in an "old man" sort of way. I have some vintage Avon Wild Country AS and it is a power house of a scent compared to For Him, and is definitely an "old man" powdery scent. Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Thank you for your input. I have not had wild country in many years but was immediately reminded of it. I do like Stirling for him but it did make me realize that I wish that I had bought the full size City Slicker as that is becoming a new favorite since the last release. Happy shaving all!
