About a month or so ago my Amy (Amy Warner here on TSD) received our first Stirling order, which almost immediately prompted another lol. We both tried the shave soaps and splashes. Scents being subjective and the great performance of both products known only too well here, all we can really add is WOW, and that we both heartily recommend them to men and women. There's PLENTY of Stirling products for the ladies in all of their categories. If I ever let Amy run out of MITA soap or splash, I'd better be ready to spend that night on the couch with our cats! Its a good thing Stirling shipping and customer service is as top notch as it is!
We also tried other products. Our impressions of those include:
Mentha Scrub bar soap: Both of us love this stuff. For a scrub, it still lathers extremely well. Though it has the scrub properties, other ingredients don't let it dry out your skin after use. Its got the whole "exfoliate, clean, moisturize, rinse clean" thing down pat. You won't have any problem identifying the menthol feel and fragrance...its definitely not shy! But again, it rinses so clean and leaves your skin moisturized, so the menthol is as enjoyable as it should be to menthol lovers! (We both keep our bar soaps from being sprayed or resting in water so as to make them last longer. I only used this Stirling soap from start to finish. Amy uses hers alongside others, so she still has quite a bit left. In comparison to, say, C.O. Bigelow's menthol scrub bar from B&BW, it didn't last as long. I think my particular bar had some "pockets" that contributed to it deterioratig quicker than the harder, denser C.O. Bigelow). But the Stirling Mentha Scrub Bar performance, after feel, value, fragrance and menthol make the Stirling a superior bar. This will be a staple sop in our shower for sure.
I have no idea why, but Amy is a nut for lip balms. I'm sure she has LBAD! She even frequently has so many brands and types that she has to use ones that she can't stand so as not to waste them lol. So we ordered three "flavors" of Stirling. Sangria, Cinnamon, and Pineapple Orange were a part of our first order. I'm just going to randomly pick the scents in our next order. Their lip balms don't have that greasy, annoying feel of the ointment ones, don't feel like you've coated your lips with candle wax and most definitely don't have the odd, off putting fragrance that so many brands do. This is daily use stuff...if you need lip balm for any type of harsh climate or conditions, you might have to look at something more specialized. That being said, Stirling lip balms don't seem to "rinse off" very shortly after application either. With maintenance applications, you're not reaching into your pocket (or purse) every ten minutes if you're spending time outdoors. It does its job, does it well and I haven't had wind or sun burned lips since using it, in spite of spending lot of summer days outside. And, of course, it's a Stirling product, so the fragrance of their lip balm is a fun and pleasant as you would imagine. The scents (flavors?) are a huge, fair way to recommend these instead of just plain goofy smells you find on store shelves. Yep, I use lip balms quite a bit, but its hard for me to find something not kiddy or chemical smelling that I want that close to my nose. The tube type package is oval, and the cap actually stays snapped on in spite of the fact that I carry mine in my pocket with change, keys, a pocket knife etc.
I know nothing about shampoo soap bars. It don't know what ingredients one should/shouldn't have, expectations from shampoo in that form, etc. Still, we guess that they wouldn't be different than from shampoo in other
forms. Amy has used some other brands, though she hasn't used them extensively or even thought much about them. I have not personally tried the Iced Pineapple shampoo bar she wanted from Stirling, though I have smelled it. I have a feeling most of like the scents of anything Stirling, when our second order arrived, we were smelling the ENVELOPE lol. So it came as a surprise to us when we smelled this shampoo bar...the fragrance was, ummmmm, well, subtle at best. Since Stirling products are only subtly fragranced when they're supposed to be, we weren't/aren't sure what to make of that. We agreed that the overall fragrance we recognized is Pineapple, but it's not PINEAPPLE like we would describe other products if they were the same scent. Normal for a shampoo bar? Surely someone here knows the answer. Amy has used her bar 3 or 4 times, so we're hardly into the idea that we know what shampoo bars do. When I asked her how she liked its performance though, the response was a simple "meh". For some reason, she hasn't been able to get her bar to produce much in the way of lather, and she says that she's disappointed in the way her hair feels after rinsing. Each time she's used it, she had to follow up with something else. Since this "review" is only based on 4 or 5 uses of a product we're not much familiar with, it wouldn't be fair to call this a negative one. I'm simply recording the results we've experienced so far, and I wanted to make it's limited trial usage clear. I'm hoping others here at TSD can chime in with their experiences.
We also ordered and have both tried both Stirling Body Butter and Body Lotion. Ahhhhh...now we're back to the same fragrance experience we love from Stirling products! Nothing shy or subtle here...just good doses of their scent magic! The fragrance of the butters and lotions we have are long lasting and typical Stirling fun. Amy is and always will be a B&BW lotion fan. So I was prepared for her to be less than enthusiastic about results from anyone else. Yep.....when I'm wrong, I'm waaay wrong. (I know because I'm wrong a LOT). Performance from both of these products is wonderful. I'm a bigger fan of the butters, Amy preferring the lotion. It's just an application thing I guess. For us, these moisturizers absorb easily and quite quickly . There's no residual greasiness or stickiness for either of us. The beneficial moisturizing lasts a long time, too. It works well for both of us at bedtime, and skin still looks good and feels good in the morning. We both use it at other times, of course. Again, Amy picked MITA s her lotion scent after reading so much about it here on TSD. She's a huge fan of that scent now in the lotion as well. I'm not saying a Stirling Lotion would ever replace her B&BW ones but I'm certain there will be at least one in her collection. To us, reordering more Stirling Body Butter or Body Lotion is a no-brainer. Value, skin feel, and those Stirling fragrances make for a great lotion experience!
Sorry for running so long...but I wanted to give some Stirling products that aren't shave soaps or splashes some attention. I know I've seen others here on TSD talk about them too, so we thought we'd share our experiences (not really a "review").

Well our mountains had their first skiff of snow, the elk are starting to rut, and my lawn is dormant, and I’m back to wearing wool socks while lounging around the house.

It’s time to switch soaps.

So a dozen fall/winter soaps came up from the basement (disorganized den) to the master bath, and displaced the summer scents and glacials. I kicked things off with Arkadia. It wasn’t the right choice, as I normally love it, and today it was a little musky. Performance was still top notch, and a freshly loaded 37C worked as well as always.

I got that too, John. But you know m e, I'm waiting for more cologne dupes. (Course I'd have to wait til next year to put in an order, but it could have an impact on the Stoylin Tony's.) You will note that one of the reviewers of British Leather says it is a great "sent".

It’s really grown on me this summer. It seemed like a dust collector last year, and now I think it’s fantastic. I didn’t realize my moods swung so much until I started wet shaving.

Well Paul its close enough to 2019 so I think I'm going to go ahead and get some Executive Man EDT (my favorite scent period) and while I'm at it probably will do a little more shopping
