Thank you for the compliment. The brush was made by @twhite and is a replica of the Rubberset 400. I love this brush, the handle has a nice weight and feel and the Tuxedo knot is a favorite. I was lucky to get one. The SE2 is an aggressive razor but I tend to lean more towards aggressive because my beard is very coarse. I rushed through the shave tonight because I had other things to do and I got bit. I'm going to try a Kai blade next and see how it goes. I like the Feathers in my General, actually prefer the Feather Pros, but this ATT is much more aggressive plus it feels like it weighs 10X as much. One of the things I like most about this hobby is there's always something to learn.
Thank you for your reviews. Always love to hear a fresh perspective. I also like Kai and Feather blades, Kai more so. I am also hopelessly hooked on Balzano blades. Not as sharp as the previous two but quite durable and lasting. You are spot on though, always something to learn and always something for everyone! Happy shaving all!
Stirling released a lot of new scents today. Full lineups for Deep Blue Sea, Hipster, and Haveford. Gotta love the EDTs. I had put some money back for this since Rod did us the favor of giving the heads up. 24 items later, I still want more! Lol Most is for my wife and daughter, but I don't mind. Looking forward to trying out triumph.
I got his e-mail about them too. He was funny with his comments on Queen of Hearts-using lyrics from Juice Newton's song with same title . But that's Doc Ezlovan-he can be like that. I'll probably order a couple hand soaps down the road.
After reading about Deep Blue Sea, it appeared to me that DBS is SB on steroids!! I suppose there are SOME differences though. Maybe it will be re-nominated as the Tonys move on.
Lol, that line is extremely witty! The only thing that I don't understand is why the good Doc is getting rid of the entire existing female line? Almost Heaven, Red Delicious, and Sunflower Fields are some of my wife's, and many of our friends and family members' favorites. Pear berry is a pretty big hit too, but the other three are the ones that always get talked about. I'm surprised that they aren't taking a mixture of oldschool and the new approach. All I know is I am not the one who is going to break the news to my daughter and mom! Lol
Well gentlemen, it looks like Stirling will be gaining a new shaver into the family very soon. I gave a new friend of mine Stirling Blu AS, SS, and bath soap for Christmas because he and his wife had complimented that scent on me a couple of times. I told him about the sale this weekend and he was all over it. His wife is mad about Almost Heaven but he started asking me about setting up a traditional shaving kit. (I told him to use the Blu with his normal razor and see if he felt a difference originally) They really enjoy Stoylin now and are quizzing me and my wife on scents. Somehow, I'm not sure if any of this makes me a good friend or not!
Congratulations Shadow Shaver for bringing a new wet shaver to our community and for starting him with Stoylin. Great job!
I have a good plan for tomorrow being Menthol Monday. Glacial Spearmint soap and the matching balm. It’s been a while I haven’t used them!
Thank you very much for helping us gain a new customer. I really do appreciate it. As for revamping the Women's line, the old stuff just wasn't selling. I love Sunflower Fields, but both years we made it, it simply wouldn't sell and we ended up having to put it on clearance. Some of the others I thought just weren't bold enough scents. I really want our women's line to sell and sell well. For us to be sustainable as more than just providing a hobby for male wetshavers, we have to have items that the whole family enjoys using.
Good catch, Paul! I love that song. For some reason it has stuck with me since I was a kid. It just makes me happy to hear it, and usually it gets stuck in my head all day and I find myself whistling or humming the tune. Drives Mandy crazy because then it gets stuck in her head.
That acccoustical guitarist knows his stuff, doesn't he? (But I like his work better with Love's Been A Little Bit Haaaaaard On Me -not that I don't like it in Q of H, of course).
Dunshire yesterday. As always wonderful. Shaved w/Glacial Black Cherry, Deep Blue Sea A/S today. Really liking DBS!
