Stirling Single Edge Straight Slurry Stone Showdown September.... Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic soap Stirling badger Gold Dollar 208 vs The Barbers Bride Stirling Mountain Man AS So far, best edge I could get on the Gold Dollar was on synthetic stones to 12k with spinner tape. I decided to give my GD 208 a ride on the new convexed coticule, nah, not working. Pulled out the ConvArkie, still not working. After multiple combos, I decided to use the slurry stone on the black ark and loved what I was feeling. Finished on a pasted balsa progression and headed off for a shave showdown with the Wacker Barbers Bride done professionally on Shaptons to 30k. Went to the shave-off with an awesome bowl full of Stirling MITA suds, finely whipped. And, well, the piece from the family in Solingen that has hand made razors for Royalty still wins...... but the $5 Chinese clunker did have a respectable showing. Finished with Stirling Mountain Man (from the Max Headroom List of Most Glorious Stanks) and headed off to watch an AMA Pro motorcycle hillclimb with my brother and our beloved life mates. We had not been to this event in 35 years. There were a couple of vintage Harleys on display that had been retired. One had a rigid frame. Far cry from the technical custom wonders of today with two feet of suspension travel and fuel options including nitromethane.

Yesterday I used Deep Blue Sea and today was Dirty South Shavers. Bleu de Chanel and Chrome Azzaro dupes, respectively. Between these two I prefer the Dirty South Shavers scent. It's a little more balanced and not as sweet as Deep Blue Sea. I don't dislike Deep Blue Sea at all. It's a wonderful scent and I'll continue to use it, but I've been surprised so far today how much I've enjoyed the Dirty South Shavers scent.
Here's an interesting twist to this: I didn't quite go for the Deep Blue Sea, but I had a chance to sample Bleu de Chanel(took a sniff from an ad in a Men's Health Magazine)and REALLY liked the original. Another "page" allowed me the opportunity to sniff the Chrome Azzaro and I didn't care for that one, which makes me wonder if the dupe of it provided by Doc Ezlovan is BETTER than the original.(to me, anyway).
