Menthol Monday’s Grand Freeze: Quick shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Wilkinson day 13 Stirling Glacial Citron SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB Stirling Glacial Citron AS Splash Christian Dior Eau Sauvage EdT This setup…….oh my goodness……it’s so frigid - if you can’t handle intense menthol then stay away from it and leave it for me. The scent of this Glacial Citron is so beautiful - lemon, lime, and a little grapefruit all come together to make it so refreshing. The soap is a tallow based lather monster with such awesome slickness, the menthol sensation hits like a ton of bitterly cold bricks, and the postshave feeling is wonderful. The Stoffel balm is also a bona fide face freezer with a very nice peppermint scent, and it gives lots of soothing as well as moisturizing. The Glacial Citron aftershave seems to pair so well with the Eau Sauvage fragrance. Three passes did me proud - such a terrific BBS shave despite the blade getting duller. Saturday morning’s Grand Freeze: Quick shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Wilkinson day 4 Stirling Frozen Tundra SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Noble Otter Northern Elixir AS Splash This morning the Frozen Tundra felt so bloody cold that I thought I was shaving with a Glacial soap - this stuff is actually one small step lower than the Glacials. The scent is so beautiful - it’s got wintergreen, peppermint, and earthy notes to it, the lather is AWESOME, it’s so slick, the menthol pummelled my face non stop, and the postshave feeling was wonderful. The Gold Bond moisturizer is also very chilly as well as soothing, and the Northern Elixir aftershave smells great - it’s a blend of eucalyptus and peppermint not to mention how frigid it is. Sunday morning’s Grand Freeze: Quick shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Wilkinson day 12 Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Osage Rub AS Splash Versace Dreamer EdT Lots of icicles in my face today - the Glacial Obsidian soap froze me to smithereens. I love its black licorice scent, it gave me tons of awesome lather with lots of slickness, and the postshave feeling was wonderful like ALL of Rod’s fantastic soaps. The Gold Bond moisturizer works so well as a balm, and the Rubby Dubby Doo worked its frigid magic. Last but not least the lovely Dreamer fragrance which was a gift from my wife’s cousin. Friday morning’s Grand Freeze: Quick shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Wilkinson day 3 Stirling Glacial Margaritas in the Arctic SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Floid Vigoroso AS Splash Did I ever freeze my face off this morning today with the Glacial MITA - this soap is a menthol atom bomb. The scent is identical to the regular version which is so citrusy and tropical, the lather is fantastic, and the postshave care is perfect. The Gold Bond moisturizer is also very mentholated and it’s so soothing. Finally the Floid Vigoroso aftershave went on frigidly cold along with its delightful old school barbershop scent that I love so much. A question for fellow Stirling fans. Anyone used Coniferous? I bought a tub of it. Unfortunately it smells like straight pine tar to me. Not a subtle fragrant scent of pine but a strong biting smell that I find totally offputting. Anyone else feel the same way or different about Coniferous? I should add that I LOVE Barbershop as well as most of the other Stirling offerings I've tried. It's just this one that I find unbearable.
Barbershop was my first Stoylin soap. It looked a little odd to me at first-so much so that I called Doc Ezlovan to make sure it's good. Looked like tunafish to me a first, but he calmly just said "Ahh, just dig in". I did and loved it. As for Coniferous, I have the aftershave. It's OK. Might gt the soap later.

The scent is delightful, it filled the bathroom while I was lathering up and shaving, the menthol sensation was killer cold, and the postshave feeling was wonderful. The matching balm and witch hazel were such a great finish. Finally the Obsession fragrance and that’s it that’s all. Another brilliant three pass BBS shave that was lots of fun! The Glacial Black Cherry is a lethally mentholated soap with a great scent, it’s chock full of awesome lather that’s so slick, and it gives wonderful skincare like ALL of Rod’s soaps. The Stoffel balm is also plenty frigid as well as very soothing and moisturizing while the Northern Elixir aftershave is another menthol atom bomb with a nice peppermint scent. Finally the lovely Obsession fragrance and I’m ready to enjoy another day of retirement. Not much to do today because it’s snowing like crazy. Menthol Monday’s Atomic Grand Freeze: Long hot shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Wilkinson day 6 Stirling Glacial Mango Sunrise SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB Axe Oil (extremely mentholated) My face is going to need all day to thaw out after this intense menthol bombardment - the Glacial Mango Sunrise soap not only has a beautiful scent and lathers superbly it freezes the living crap out of you. The Stoffel balm is also killer cold, and the Axe oil is actually meant to be used for sore joints but it has a delightful exotic scent and the menthol sensation from it is absolutely off the charts - just a small dab on both cheeks and another one on the neck is sufficient. The Glacial Spearmint soap and balm did a helluva number on me this morning - the beautiful scent filled the bathroom while I was lathering up and shaving, the menthol sensation was killer cold, and the postshave feeling was wonderful. The Frosted Spearmint aftershave has the identical lovely scent as Rod’s stuff and the menthol kick is insane. Another awesome three pass BBS shave that was such a pleasure! Friday morning’s Atomic Grand Freeze: Long hot shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Wilkinson day 4 Stirling Glacial Cedar SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB Stirling Glacial Cedar AS Splash Bleu de Chanel Parfum Not only am I still frozen stiff from this shave I also smell AWESOME. The Glacial Cedar soap and aftershave are two menthol atom bombs with a most delightful scent - the soap lathers like there’s no tomorrow and the postshave care is superb. The Stoffel balm’s so moisturizing and soothing not to mention how frigid it is, and the Glacial Cedar aftershave went on icy cold. Finally the magnificent Bleu de Chanel fragrance and that’s it that’s all. Three swift passes gave me a brilliant BBS shave that I enjoyed to the max!
