I have been away for awhile and when I came home I had this razor waiting for me. Rasoir Sabre Russian Bear 7/8th This razor is completely different from the other two I acquired earlier this year. The steel is very similar to Sheffield steel, not as thin as the other two. I look forward to trying it out later. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
F.W.Engels "Argo Steel" Solingen Germany Bone Scales. 6/8+ inch, 3/4 Hollow. This one has some potential, and just needs some TLC. Only cost $16, including shipping. I know the scales aren't original, but, I might have some nice original F.W.Engels scales, with Hansel & Gretel on them, in Silver, with a less than perfect FWE blade. I haven't done anything with the other FWE yet. The bone scales can go good with about anything.
This one was an interesting one for me... Marshall Field & Co. razor made in Sweden. I worked for the Dayton-Hudson Corp. for a few years in the early 2000’s. For those not familiar, they changed their name to its more well known brand, the Target Corporation, in 2000. Marshall Field’s was also part of the brand from 1990-2004. Add in that this very much looks like the works of a Heljestrand MK32, and I couldn’t resist. It has that Ebonite look/feel/smell to the scales. A little rubbery, starting to discolor on the backside and a sulphur’ish smell when rubbed. Fun razor find for me. Happy hunting. Tom
