I'm hoping it isn't too bad. I've had other difficult blades. As long as they didnt source the steel from Pakistan, there is still a glimmer of hope.
This is taken from a history of Filarmonica straight razor generations. The Sello Oro is the 4th and last generation. The father died after two generations and then the son took over for the third. The metal and razors seemed okay until the 4th when the daughter took over and yes....wait for it, sourced from Pakistani steel. "4. Fourth generation: JMP's son died shortly after his father, then the daughter took over. The company closed a few years later in 1990. Very hard, brittle steel sourced from Pakistan - takes an edge, but falls apart sooner than expected No tang marks, only perfunctory "FILARMONICA -DOBLE TEMPLE-" etched on the face Some have Sello Oro packaging or just plastic sleeves Simply avoid these unless you're a collector"
Imperial Razor "Extra Hollow Ground" Fully Warranted Germany 6/8th This one came up for a Buy It Now sale, at $5 + $4 shipping. I jumped on it. It looked cruddy, one pin head sized rust spot on the tang, but, in very good shape. I buffed it out some, and it shined up, like a new penny. It was stored in a light coating of oil, and still had an edge, that popped arm hairs. If I spent 5 more minutes on it, it might look new.
Well i’ve received this Wade & Butcher today and im hoping to get volunteers to revamp it! Lol just kidding ( or not )
