The vendor you bought that from does a decent job on the stones. He also sells a fair amount of razors at a decent price. Looks like you got nice piece
Its a Swedish Frame Back..Lot of Intel in this Straight Razor Place Thread.. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...zerland.html&usg=AOvVaw3-uvmjxfw0C5RBriha5Rmf Billy..
I picked up this razor from a antique shop yesterday for $20. On the front, it's stamped with Wyeth's Warranted Cutlery, and Felt Pad Razor Works on the reverse. I don't know anything about it, but I thought the scales were unique and it was cheap.
Wyeth's Warranted Cutlery were Importers & Outlet..They Didn't Make Razors or Cutlery..That is Made in Germany that Razor I Reckon.. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...-please.html&usg=AOvVaw3ZgUS8kEinhjWbUd34NxL1 Billy..
Love the scales and I think you have a real nice blade. I have seen a Wyeth's Warranted Cutlery in partnership with Boker before (H.B & Co with the Tree on the reverse of a Wyeth), so if there is any commonality, I would bet you have good steel. Nice catch! Tom
I like having variety in my collection and when I find a razor with an American or English sounding name, I keep thinking, "Hey, that's different." Tricked by the Germans again! I better not find out my Wade & Butcher is also secretly from Germany.
Many Solingen Blades were Imported by USA Cutlery Companies & Had their Company Stamped on them..Wade & Butchers in Sheffield were Largely Funded by USA Private Big Business's to Make Big Blades Specifically for USA Markets..To My Knowledge Wade & Butcher Retained their Name on All their Blades.. The UK & Germany were the Worlds Leaders in Mass Production Methods at this Time.. Billy..
Crappy pic, but a brand new Wacker Classic 2. I offered $100 and I woke up this morning to see the offer was accepted! Now to let SWMBO know what she bought me for Christmas
WACKER CLASSIC 2 STRAIGHT RAZOR 5/8", BUFFALO HORN HANDLE $295.00 Silly money indeed! I think the lowest price I’ve found is $189.
They’re basically hand ground in Solingen by a father and son, but the disparity in prices is beyond me The blades are quite thick (>4mm) at the spine and are ground extra hollow. Supposed to be super smooth, close shavers. Perhaps @oscar11 can chime in; I believe he has a couple.
Dunno !!!..There is a Lot of Mixed Reviews about them for a Razor Costing that Kinda Money.. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...r-razor.html&usg=AOvVaw3sKIM14cSEKXoOn5nGVXjT Billy..
