Genevas are excellent razors Hans. The iron ore came from Michigan and crossed the Great Lakes in ore ships, then much of it was refined into iron and steel in places like Pittsburgh and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. For knives and razors, it was a short trip from there to the Finger Lakes region of New York state and companies like Geneva, W.R. Case, and others.
Thanks Jeff, I will. Eventually I will start hone one of these tomorrow. Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk

Adding some more modern blades to the stable… The first is a J3 Kamisori. I have seen his work on the Bay and Etsy, but never pulled the trigger. This used model presented itself at a risk free price, so I bid. It’s been used, so it had some edge imperfections and some water spots, but I took that as a good sign. Fixed the issues and took it for a spin… seems like good quality. Now just need to make a holder. The second arrival was from a seller that seems to have some of Robert Williams’s more basic models/semi-customs. This faux frameback is a grind I find interesting, and while the scale design could be love it/ hate it, I enjoy it. This was a brilliant shave right out of the box, just with some stropping. Probably just a few years old, but I have seen 3 sell in the last couple months, so not sure how many of these are still out there. And finally, a real custom… and another Williams. I went back and forth, pulling it in and out of my watch list. The seller thinks it is from around 2012, as it just has “Williams” on the tang. I just kept coming back to it, and started to fall in love with the shape. It seems to me like a homage to the De Pew razor, and it slims down to just below 5/8 at the point. It also has a little of the design he made for SRP in there. Now that I have it in hand, the scales are beautiful and the spine detail stands out for me. Really glad I was able to come to a deal. Happy hunting. Tom
Nice scores Tom, I’ve been on a bit of a razor spree myself, nothing to pricey but 4-5 razors altogether. Pictures soon!

Let’s get started, vendor’s images when noted. A second ivory Brookes and Crookes to make the gentleman’s pair. The dresser case is English and originally contained two very worn dissimilar razors in plastic scales that I doubt were original to the case. The case has a name and date W. B. Killick, Aprol 2nd, 09. That’s nine years before my father was born. It would be interesting to know his story.
Johnathan Crookes 7/8 rattler in its original coffin. I do believe this razor is NOS. Beautifully made.
A couple of Kamisori, first a Yama Dai orihi that appears new, vendor’s images, it’s in transit. Second, a NOS ‘aural’ razor used to trim nose and ear hair - you never use one of these on any place that you cannot see obviously. I’ve always wanted one of these just because, but new ones here were always to expensive for a razor that is an oddity and probably won’t see much use, but hey who knows. Only about the last 1” of these was sharpened.
I posted my Rifuto 815 full hollow (!) Silver Steel by Perfectworks, here’s another on the way, a Kikuboshi 6500 Silver Steel also by Perfectworks. I knew that the 8600 was a Perfectworks razor but have never seen the 6500 before. Vendor’s images.
