The Straight Razor Acquisition Thread

I found this Filarmonica 14 DT first series at a barber shop lot. It has been reduced, 5mm missing in length, the stencil is barely visible.
I don't know if it has been done it the factory since it seems to have never been used. It had a straight cut but I reshaped the tip

Yes, check out his name… it should have been a clue. Not mentioned is that the seller and the goods are actually in Ukraine and shipping is taking a long time as a result. Minneapolis is his US contact site. Supposedly/hopefully my razor has now left Ukraine and making it’s way stateside.

This one was a little rough, but cleaned up nicely. I got it for a song. It appears to still have the factory edge on it, and is quite sharp. Unknown how old it is.

 

Very nice Scott, I have an H&H strop somewhere, I’ll see if I can find it.

 

I was slumming on eBay and picked this up for $100 delivered. Didn’t see anything wrong with it. Vendor’s images.

 

The Crator Guarded Razor

Not sure about this ones steel quality. But, it would be a great razor for someone learning, or with shaky hands. The guard easily flips from one side to the other, with a mild touch. It needs a little attention first. Unknown how old this one is.

 

Near 6/8 Geneva Forge Mark, hammered tang. Appears to have the original finish. Vendor’s images.

I think I lucked out on this one. The seller had two of these, and this looked to be the nicer one of the two, and $29 total, shipped to my door. It required a little buffing, to get some minor spotting out. No tarnish or rust on it. After it was all said and done, this is a NOS blade. Unknown how long it has been in storage, but it was kept well. It will need to be honed.
BTW, the dark areas on the blade are from my poor photography. The gold etching is perfect, and not faded.
