I found this one, and ordered several. https://wetshavingproducts.com/prod...itional-paper-box?_pos=1&_sid=8bb22fe6b&_ss=r .
Just got in a 7-day set of Tourons from a friend. These are pre-1850 as they are not stamped ‘Touron-Parisot’. They’ll be off for a restore later today and I have some ‘material’ in the ‘scale pail’ to fix the two plastic and one broken scale. Should be nice, these are large razors, 13/16-ish. The days of the week are in French of course, and the patterns on the blade in the third image are just reflections. I think that only one has ever been used, and it very lightly.
Thanks Scott, they really are astounding for 180 year old razors. Mark Yount is doing the restore. Can’t wait to see them. Then I’ll have a massive honing job….
Aaaand they’re back! 1840s Touron set just back today after a good cleaning and polishing by Mark Yundt - oddly, 3 of the blades had a brushed finish while the rest were polished. Now they all have a matching polished finish. These are big, heavy grind razors, 7/8 to the top of the decorated spines, so they’re almost like a set of French FBUs.
That is one fine looking set. Are you going to hone them all, or just leave them as is?? Knowing you, you have probably already put a few to the stones.
