Thanks Gents for the nice comments I was on the fence being tortoise. I can see the logo thru the scales. The darker areas twisted me. I will break them down and soak in Neetsfoot for a week or so and give a high grit sand. The Neetsfoot oil, for lack of a better word, rehydrates the horn and put life back into the

I recently got this dubl duck satin wedge & had never seen one as worn down as this there is no hollow. I do not use tape makes this unusable for my usage. Anyone can use this?
Yeah..Use Tape to Fill in the Hone Ware on the Spine...Might Need to Use a Couple of Layers of Tape..Or Patches of Tape on the Worst Hone Ware Bits then Use a Layer of Tape on Top...I Hope that Makes Sense..I Have Honed Worse..Using this Method..These SRs with a Lot of Hone Ware are a Bugger...I Get them from Other Folks..I Avoid Em for Myself... Billy..
Start with three layers, and see how it works. Just mark the edge with a Sharpie, to see how much it helps.
Some fine looking straights in the past few posts! I came across this interesting website that has some cool mid evil-era looking blades. How great would it be to have one of these, or better yet, be able to forge one of these! yourself! What do you think? http://www.sageblades.com/straight-razors/ and https://www.classicshaving.com/collections/dylan-farnham-custom?limit=all
Picture/title/$...Picture/title/$...Picture/title/$...repeat As I scroll, I am looking for something to capture my attention with those 3 things in the equation. This one originally did not. But for some reason I scrolled back up before closing out the search. The tang and tail proportions looked “off” for some reason, so I went into the listing... and I’m glad I did. I’m used to sellers putting dimensions like 6.25” or total length 10.5”, so that didn’t seem weird at first. But as I scrolled the pics, that was the length of the CUTTING EDGE?!?!? Turned out to be one of those advertising razors. This example being from the sellers grandfather, who was a barber for 62 years. This was actually on my wish list, but I never really expected one. Here it is next to a 15/16 German 14 for comparison... wow it looks tiny. So, I most definitely (nope), probably (nope), possibly (nope), not a snowballs chance in hell will take this to my face. But they did say it was restored & sharpened. Happy hunting, Tom
The razor is almost daring me to try. But I will say, it is very nicely ground and really does look like their normal sized razor... just on steroids.
