Cool idea! I drive right by a P.O. every day I work. Not a hassle to stop and fill out paperwork (I work in Pharma, all I do is paperwork).
I'm volunteer as an official "TSD US bro" for PIFs. If the winning non-US member shoots me a PM we can arrage the shipping charges, but I'm already at the post office..so the forms and paperwork is no big deal.
This what I love about the forum. You guys go out of your way to make every one feel like a family. You guys rock! Proud to be here
You only have to fill out that customs form if you want to ship to an address outside the EU. The packages I sent you for example were simple international mailings withouth any customs declaration What's interesting though: I pay the same for shipping to Denmark (about 250 miles away) and to USA (4000 miles away).
It's a great idea, I support it In my country the custom-value form is not mandatory, only if you want to.
I ship internationally all the time. Yes, custom forms do have to be filled out, and the shipping does cost more. But, it can all be done online to save time and money. And the package can be left in your own mailbox. The USPS recently hiked their prices again. So, I had to figure out the best prices for shipping. If you print through Paypal, you'll save money. I shipped a package to macaronus recently. The USPS site wanted $22, Paypal wanted $15. Also, a note on the term "CONUS". It means continental United States. That excludes Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, Puerto Rico, overseas military addresses, etc. There are no extra shipping charges to ship to those places, and only military addresses require a customs form. Please just say US only, instead of CONUS only.
Thanks "bro's" I'll make a somewhat equal offer for any TSD members - I'll help out if you ever wanna trade or need a "personal shopper" in Denmark. I have most days off and it's no bother for me to walk into town or visit the post office
