I had to vote against. I smell AV and I immediately thing "old man". I don't know maybe I'll give it a chance and take another whiff. It's hard to use the same AS that my grandfather would use, but then again I shave with the same kind of razor.
Hey Slagle, Don't knock smelling like an "old man". I just hope that someday you will be an "old man". And you will make it unless you just party yourself to an early demise.
I don't see my Grandpa wearing AV. Maybe English Leather, or even Skin Bracer, but his nose does work and so does my Grandmother's.
That is what I thought then I put it on. Skin filled with good stuff and the scent went from medicinal old man to ohhey gooey goodness. You really cant judge the smell by the bottle, and you cant sterotype an aftershave. I think the Old Spice add said it the best. If your grandfater didn't have it you wouldnt be here.
Blind Sniff Test If its the smell that troubles you, (or your loved ones) heres my challenge: Line up some decants of stuffs and conduct a blind sniff test. No preconceived ideas about smelling like old Grandad (may he rest in peace) and see which fragrances you all can agree on. It may surprise you. I know its not the effectiveness of the juice cause Velva can cure all sorts of nastiness.
I have other choices, but for some reason my hand seems to usually veer toward either the Aqua Velva or the Florida Water after a extra satisfying shave.
One of the most awesome commercials ever. The only gripe I have is that he doesn't use NEARLY enough when he slaps it on!
i tried it for the first time today. awesome scent right off the bat. the cooling suprised me though. i was expecting it, but not as much as it actually delivers. very very nice. count me in as a full supporter.
