Reached for a blade I rarely use. It was fine, of course. Housed in an awesome razor is a good place to start.
    Have a great day all.

    November 2023 Recap

I apologize for being absent lately. Everything is fine but life just got in the way. Even though I have not posted in the last couple of weeks, I have been following along. On the shave front nothing much to add. The Mike's Vetiver continues to sink at a rapid rate. I am down to 11 grams remaining and anticipate finishing the soap next week at the latest. As always, it was my pleasure to hang out with you guys this month. Take care and have a great day.

Great to see all of the 3017 participants diligently working through their respective stashes. I have been off from work this week, only to work on some painting in our house. My body is rebelling, however the end is in sight. Sound familiar?
Shaved today with a lovely, French product. No, not Bridget Bardot...:angry017:
I haven't chosen my next victim, but rather am "playing the field". ;)

Hey guys. I'm still hanging in there on my Mike's 3017 with many days to go.

I went to bed late, arose early this morning, and grabbed a quick shave before heading out the door. I was caffeine-deficient, groggy, and rushing a bit. OK, I was hurrying. My brush soaking mug (sadly, one a friend gave me) slipped out of my hand as I was drying it. It exploded into a million and seven pieces, slivers, and particles. Thankfully, the mess was confined in the sink. That's a first in more than 10 years of using shaving mugs, so I guess I was overdue.

The shave, albeit humbling, was really good. The explosion and subsequent clean up took place without waking my Bride, and the sink (unlike my ego) suffered no damage. Unlike upper-crust shavers such as @Primotenore and @BaylorGator, I have no paid housekeeping staff and therefore have to feed, dress, and clean up after myself.

I'm especially glad I didn't break a glass container of stank instead of the mug. That would have escalated the incident to disaster level, and my Bride would not have enjoyed a sudden awakening only to be met by emergency responders and rapidly evacuated from our humble abode to fresh air.

Lessons learned: (1) get more sleep, (2) plan my mornings better, (3) quick shaves don't save time if you break your mug and have to clean it up, (4) source a non-breakable mug, and (5) in the event of a repeat occurrence, always have an alibi and someone/something to blame in my hip pocket.

Sorry about the mug Charlie. I did the same thing years back with a Captain's Choice bowl and it was a mess too.

100% Joseph. Hey, I think we have one more weekend to ride before it gets too cold. You're in the sidecar this time, so don't forget them boots.

Some great monthly summaries above, Gentlemen. I’m probably about 1/2 done the Mikes tub, but enjoying the lathers very much.
A fave brush with a fave razor…doesn’t get much better ‘pour moi’.

Sorry about the mug Charlie. I dropped an MWF bowl last year and it exploded in the sink. It’s amazing how slippery they can get.

Thanks Brian. I'm sorry to hear of your MWF bowl. Maybe I should PIF my Tabac bowl to @jtspartan while it is still pristine?
