December 9, 2023 OneBlade Genesis V1 Gunmetal GEM PTFE Alpha Outlaw WSP Ol’Kentucky Small Batch Shave Tonic Happy Saturday Everyone. I have decided to make the WSP Ol'Kentucky my next 3017 target. The scent of the soap and the Small Batch Shave Tonic seem to go with the time of the year. I decided to pull out the V1 Genesis and use it with the Gem blade. While the V1 did hold the blade tighter it was not markedly better than the V2 Genesis. I will be testing the Gem blade with the OneBlade Hybrid tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great day.
I’ve been trying to finish off my puck of Mike’s for a while. I’ve made some progress. I had shoulder surgery on Tuesday and have my arm in a sling that is strapped to my waist. I have struggled to get the tin open and use a brush and bowl one-handed. I finally gave up this morning and switched to a shave stick and face lathering. Today I had a nice shave with some Ogallala and my Red-tip. Have fun!
Congrats Clint. You made quick work on the Mike’s. My Bride and I have been on a small field trip, and I have been enjoying a sabbatical from Mike’s. Thankfully, Tabac is also effective agin skeeters. Best of luck with the parole board. I never could manage a decent shave with a federally-issued Gillette Psycho. Does the big house still allow Midnight Stag…or were you convicted on possession of it?
December 10, 2023 OneBlade Hybrid GEM PTFE 30DC LE WSP Ol’Kentucky Small Batch Shave Tonic Happy Sunday Everyone. I am going to visit Mom today even though it is a rainy messy day for driving. This morning's shave was just meh. I don't seem to get on well with the Hybrid. I am not sure of the difference between the Hybrid and the Genesis but the shaves are not similar at all. The WSP soap will not last very long. It was very soft in the beginning and will get softer with daily use. Take care and have a great day.
Don’t poke the bear, Charlie. Didn’t you see the pic of the big time barrister @Primotenore has on retainer? That cost him a whole ‘lotta Cracker Jack prizes….
How unfortunate. However, Charlie, I’m sure your domestic skills are admirable. I should sharpen mine as well. I’ll get the butler right on it. In the meantime, after tossing my puck of seaweed stank-puck, I had the butler replace it with a tub of Grooming Department N’Orange & Sangre, which combines the scents of orange and leather quite nicely. It also pairs well with Chatillon Lux - Fourth and Pine, so all is well in the manor now.
Thanks Clint. We are having a great time. We saw Alcatraz and San Quentin (from a distance) yesterday, and it reminded me how much I miss you guys.
Sunday, December 10 I Coloniali~~Semogue SOC~~Cooper MonoBilt/Sharp Star Chose the next 3017 victim. This jar of I Coloniali is rock-hard, but seeing that I do have a back-up, I thought, why not? The soap was thoroughly bloomed whist showering and even though the jar is quite small, I was able to get a good load on my brush. No glamor-lather shot, but it was indeed a quality lather. Second shave on the Sharp Star. The MonoBilt was typically aggressive---especially on the neck. I finished with the matching ASB, which I will only use sparingly, as it is also discontinued and I don't possess a back-up bottle.
