I figure the established companies like Tabac or MWF change formulations mostly due to regulatory requirements, to control cost, and/or to deal with supply constraints. No idea about the artisan soap tweaks other than I love Mike's Natural Soaps. He's a nice, knowledgeable, hardworking guy that makes terrific soap. His packaging is simple, his scents are top-notch, and he does without all the silly (sometimes offensive) product names and strange container artwork. Another good one for many of the same reasons is Stirling.
Thank you Charlie. Happy anniversary to you both. Swati and I celebrate our 35th anniversary on June 9th. Swati said she should get 2 for 1 credit for each year with me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Clint, and Happy upcoming Anniversary to you and Swati! I seem to recall that the recommended anniversary gift for the 35th (or 70th for Swati ) is a platinum ring with an obscenely large diamond. Kathy could claim at least 2-for-1, but she's indicated that she will settle (at least for now) for a new car and new outside LED lighting around the house. We've almost sealed the deal on the lighting, but I truly despise the process of getting a new car. We visited a car dealer a few months ago with hardly any inventory on the lot. They weren't exactly in the deal-making mode. I spoke to a young sales guy rocking a shiny new Rolex Datejust. Of course, I complimented him on it. He said he won it as a sales award, and he was currently shooting for his second Rolex sales award. I encouraged him to ask for a solid gold Rolex President. I'll never know if he got it, because I ain't going back to check or to help fund it.
We are giving each other some home repairs/upgrades and a trip to Spain and Portugal. Now that the girls are older and for the most part off the payroll we are going to try to take a bigger trip together each year.
Working on the Razo Rock. It does produce a nice lather if you load it heavy. To big razors to mow down the stubble.
May 16, 2024 Timeless Ti 0.95 mm Gillette 7 O’clock Black Semogue Mistura Taj Master Soap Creations Frosted Bay Rum Barberry Coast Bay Rum Aftershave Happy Thursday Everyone. I am onto the next 3017 target with another mentholated soap, Master Soap Creations Frosted Bay Rum. The soap has a great chill factor but it is not as cold as the Stirling Glacial I just finished. Since I love Bay Rum this will be a fun 3017. I spent some time over the weekend making some menthol liquid to add to aftershave. The menthol additive gave the Barberry Coast Bay Rum a face chill equal to or colder than the Stirling Glacial. I am sitting here typing this and my face feels like it is in a freezer. I just love it. Take care and have a great day everyone.
Funny, Joseph, I was just thinking the same thing. Clint turned in to an Israeli Ambassador to TSD clone(for a day, anyway). Course who am I to say that? The first time I tried a Stoylin Glacial soap, I reacted like this: OOOOOOONOOOOO
You better watch your step, Joseph. You are a decade past the 30-year warranty. Congrats, my dear friend, to you and Dr. Mrs. Primo!
