Beautiful bowl, Gary. I gotta say, you are committed to this 3017. Whereas, Charlie should simply be committed,
Wednesday, May 22 ETHOS Lavender Suprême~~Simpson 90th Anniversary Astor~~Gillette New SC/Voskhod~~St Johns Cutlass Honestly, using the same soap everyday isn't difficult, especially when every other player can be swapped out. I am making excellent progress with the ETHOS and still believe it'll be 3017'd before the end of May.
May 23, 2024 Wolfman Bronze Guerrilla (0.69mm gap) Gillette 7 O’clock Black Elite Ironwood Beehive Master Soap Creations Frosted Bay Rum Ogallala Bay Rum Cologne with Menthol Happy Thursday Everyone. This week is really going by very quickly. I have not used this brush very much recently. Mark, Doug and I ordered the handles from Bob Quinn at Elite razors and the knots for Druida in Spain. We made the brush to commemorate our friendship made here on TSD. The knot is a true beast with tons of backbone and scritch. Given that the knot loosens up with more consistent use, I will try to use it more often. Take care and have a great day.
Mark and I set our knots. I set the knot for Doug. Bob Quinn said that to turn a beehive brush he had to make 2 at a time. So Doug got a complete brush and an extra handle.

It is time to catch up.... Tuesday was Brian Brown 7/8 full hollow and I decided to load directly from the bowl until the donut of death appears. This brush has the 'gelled knot' and I do enjoy using it. A heavy dose of classic Rive Gauche and the whole apartment building knows when I leave. Wednesday I picked another boar and worked the soap like it owes me money and is avoiding my calls. The fancy Dovo is sporting a fantastic edge from the factory and the stank of the day is another classic, Terre d'Hermes. Thursday featured more Boar love as I keep trying to get donut of death to make an apperance. A big and sharp Grim Buthcher not only sounds cool but shaves great. Green Irish Tweed again on this classic scent week. Friday smooth mug was delivered by my Heart Steel 7/8 and it was GIT again, well because I forgot I used it the day before. The donut of death is almost ready to make an appearance. The weekend is the time for some variety and Saturday I switched it up to Awesome Sauce and add some liquid menthol for a 'cool' shave. I went OG for the steel, Wade and Butcher and old school for the stank, Pour Un Homme De Caron. Wishing everyone a fun and relaxing long holiday weekend. For me everyday feels like Saturday now that I am retired.
Saturday, May 25 MdC Original~~Semogue TSN Final Edition 1/50~~Cooper MonoBilt/Voskhod Needed to change things up for today's shave, so I cracked open a brand-new tub of Martin de Candre. Discovered the dented lid... Thankfully, the soap is a fantastic as I remember. The lavender is beautiful and the quality of the soap is every bit as good---if not better than the ETHOS. When you factor in this tub is 200g of really hard soap vs. 127.57g of very soft soap...well you do the math.
Fantastic Shave Joseph. The MdC lids just seem to dent on their own. I bought the MdC Lavender in a bowl. When I finish it I will transfer the Vetiver and then the Lemon as I complete each one. The Original and the Fougere are my two favorite MdC scents.
