Back to work on the C&S, I am trageting to finish it in April but I don't think it will happen. It had a big hole in the middle which I tried cover up but just made a mess. Small and large shaving theme. I usually prefer larger straights but the two 6/8 are heavy enough, the both take excellent edges and they have torq pins instead of traditional pins which allows me to make them nice and tight. The DE is a Janus toggle, a stainless steel version of the famed Gillette toggle. I like this better than the Gillette toggle. I don't know this razor did not get more love from the fickle shaving community. A big Kent BK12 in the back next to my smallest brush (but finest knot) Culmack 55. In between in size is a Zenith Boar. Some serious projecting stanks, I was feeling obnoxious so they fit my mood.
Hello guys. I apologize for not keeping up with my posting. I have a lot of stuff going on with my mom and such. Honestly I am lucky if I shave 2-3 times a week now. I did manage to finish the Santa Maria Novella Crema da Barba. I have moved onto a tub of Fine Italian Citrus soap in their new formula. I will try to check in more frequently. Take care.
Prayers for your family and your sweet Mom in particular, Clint. It is good to hear from you, my friend.
Thursday and Friday shave. It was a busy week and I have not worked this much since I retired. For Friday I went with my Gilette Toggle and it delivered a better shave than I remember. It is going to be close finishing the C&S, a nice performer for sure.

I was blessed to hear from my friend @jgreenepa this week. He's doing well and causing trouble on the 30DC thread. I can only hope he comes to his senses (I realize this is a longshot) and starts using Tabac very soon. In 3017 business, my La Toja shave stick is close to being done. Next 3017 candidate will be a new puck of Mike's Hungarian Lavender. I took a break from using the shave bowl that @Primotenore gifted me a little over a year ago. I recently returned to bowl lathering, and my shaves have once again become more enjoyable. Because I take more time to properly hydrate my lather in the bowl, it almost eliminates any discomfort or weepers. Thanks again, my friend, for this wonderful gift. @Jayaruh is crafting JR # 462 with a 20 mm synthetic knot and a North Cackalacky Tar Heel burl wood handle to go into my travel kit. I'll be honored to have and use it. https://jrshaving.blogspot.com/2025/02/starting-jayaruh-462-travel-brush.html Hope y'all are well.
Charlie, glad to use Tabac, as long as I get to use a clothespin on my schnozz. Interesting aside, my grandson had no idea what a clothespin was. Take care, my olfactorily damaged friend…
Thank you guys. Right now I am just hoping the light at the end of the tunnel is not an oncoming train.
@Keithmax Keith, my wife has become engrossed in K Dramas and K Pop bands. She bought tickets to a K Pop concert in San Antonio. Ready or not I will be going. If Swati finds out she can get enough vegetable dishes to eat, I can see a trip to Korea in our future.
Monday, February 24 Extro Egyptian Oudh~~Semogue TSN Final Edition~~RazoRock GC/Personna 74 Picked this soap up last month. First take reminded me too much of Le Père Lucien Bay Rum, a soap/scent that doesn't please me. Tried to sell it, but had no takers. I guess I am going to shave with it. Loaded directly from the puck and had much better results. While the scent does not really remind one of oud, it isn't awful and since I rinse my face with Witch Hazel, no matter what soap I use, the scent is obliterated after the shave.
Tuesday, February 25 Macduff's Prairie Blooms~~Wald S1~~Wolfman WR1/Personna 74~~Lilac Vegetal Dialed in a terrific shave and finished with one of the all-time classic stanks.
Wednesday, February 26 Macduff's Alberta Boys~~Plisson 16 HMW~~Feather DX/Schick Proline~~Rasasi Hawas Chose a spring-like fragrance with the break in the weather. The Plisson has decided not to give up any more hairs. The Feather DX will bite if not careful. No bite today.
