So that is what the bottle originally looked like. This one seems out of character for you, it is one I enjoy and own.
I was swayed by the overwhelming positive reviews. I had a bottle of the Parfum, which is currently on Ebay. This one will be great in the summer.
Enjoying some more variety before I start the next 3017. A 7/8 Brian Brown provided the sharp steel for the shave. Thursday is zumba night so I decided to treat the class to a rum and musc soaked leather scent. Except for the instructor I am the only man so I wanted a manly stank. It also lets me have some extra room, not sure why Friday is the only day I need to get up early so I needed a quick shave. While the Cobra Classic is my favorise SE razor, the Asylum Rx is a sweet razor too. Loaded with a Feather Pro it makes quick work of the morning shave. I would choose the Steam Punk for my next 3017 but I can't find a another one so I will spread this one out. To soften the blow of having to go into to the office just one day a week I went with my Shavemac ebonite brush, it always makes me smile. To make the smile even bigger Musc Kublaï Khän, I am not sure if it made anyone else smile?
Friday, March 7 AoS Rose Absolute~~Rubberset 400/3~~Wolfman WR2/Wizamet Iridium Super~~Amouage Opus XIV Royal Tobacco Tomorrow'll be the final shave with the AoS. The Amouage is my numero uno "tobacco" stank.
Sunday, March 9 ABC Almond Oil~~Simpson "Rover"~~Wolfman WR1 Ti/Wizamet Iridium Super~~YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday!
When I was organising I found a puck of Pehanligon's Hammam Bouquet and decided to pair it with the EDC. I did not remember how this performed but it was excellent. The big Grim Butcher is always a treat to shave with. My next 3017 has started, George F Trumper's Spanish Leather. This one is already pretty low so it shouldn't take too long. I enjoy the performance and it my best leather scent in a shaving cream... well more like a croap. Kicking off this 3017 with a Brad Sears brush, a big 8/8 Dovo and finishign off with some vintage M7 stank. The common belief amongst the shaving netizens is that the factory edges from Dovo are terrible. My experience is completely different. This one of two Dovos I bought from the Korean Dovo vendor, both have factory edges and both edges are excellent.
Monday, March 10 Extro Egyptian Oudh~~Wald S1~~Wolfman WR1 Ti~~Amouage Search Playing the field until my next 3017 arrives. It was a freebee sample from Pasteurs Pharmacy. I haven't the foggiest what it is...
I am enjoying the Trumpers, it doesn't take much to make a lot of lather so I pulled one of my big guns, a Simpson PL10.
Wednesday, March 12 ToOBS Oud~~Abercrombie & Fitch Ali Baba~~2011 Mühle R41/Wizamet Iridium Super~~Gucci Intense Oud I have to rethink the next 3017. The sample arrived today from Pasteur's and it's literally enough for one---maybe two shaves. Here's a little info:
Thursday, March 13 Colabora~~Varlet Mega HD~~2011 Mühle R41/Weber Bulldog/Wizamet Iridium Super~~Amouage Search First outing with the Pasteur-Collaboration shave soap---hence the name, Colabora. Strong scent, somewhat reminiscent of the Parfums de Marly Layton. Decent lather and slickeness. Not going to buy a tub, however, so this 3017 will be a quickie. I should get at least two more shave with this sample.
Thursday featured a fresh of the hones 7/8 Art Razor and A Taste of Heaven, my favorite lavender stank. Friday I needed a quick shave, my Cobra Classic always delivers a quick and excellent shave. I am enjoying the Trumpers but the weather is getting warm so I need to finish this one of and get going with a spring scent soap.
Saturday, March 15 Barrister & Mann Bay Rum~~dubl duck #2~~Cooper Monobilt/Wizamet Iridium Super~~B&M Kyovu Bay Rum My most recent 3017 was not only short-lived but also not-memorable. Moving forward, while I would love to use this soap daily, sadly, what's now available from B&M is but a shadow of its former self, so...gotta hoard it. Nevertheless, and amazing shave with the above-pictured products.
Sunday variety shave: PRC damascus 7/8, CF, a crazy big brush from Silverloaf and an odd stank, Eau Noir. Hope everyone is having a wonderful evening.
Wow, gentlemen, you're having some amazing shaves with fancy gear. I'm not sure if any of this is related, but local officials have instructed residents to stay indoors as much as possible due to unidentified atmospheric odor sources. The buds have also fallen off the trees. An office building had to be evacuated on Friday. The windows on these fancy buildings don't open, and it seems that someone went a little too far on Casual Friday. My La Toja puck is almost gone. I need to work on my Fast 'n Loose lathering to keep up with you guys. I had some health-related excitement last week, but I am doing fine and all is good. I will continue to follow along and interject useful and relevant commentary as needed.
