Friday, May 16 Macduff's Prairie Rumrunner~~Simpson CH3~~Cobra Classic~~St. Johns Bay Rum My morning shaves are proving to be rushed. I don't care for that at all. Might have to rethink when I shave... This one was however, more than satisfactory.
Nice shave, Stinkmaster. Pardon me, but I can't herb my curiosity. Has your soap turned green like @blondblue's aftershave and my lather bowl? I sometimes find night shaves to be more enjoyable as I take more thyme then. And I don't mean to to throw shade on tree-pass shaves, but I'm pine with only two.
What seemed like a dissadvantage end up being an advantage. Being in Korea and the new high cost of shipping has made buying and selling difficult so I have no sellers regret since I have not sold in a long time.
Catch up time! It was a busy week, it feels like I am busier now than when I was working. A smiling Ali's Blade, Thäter brush and for this warm day AdP Colonia it first use this season. I have 4 Dovo's all excellent blades. I had just one frustration that Dovo razor were all 5/8 or 6/8 so when they came out with a 8/8 I had to acquire it. But the star of the show is my first use of vintage Old Spice that just arrived. A certain someone is bad influence and has me buying vintage stanks. This did not dissapoint and it is much better than the current version. Another one bites the dust. I finished off the Steam Punk, I really enjoyed the scent and performance was acceptable. I had about a shave and half left of the cream so I pulled out a big gun, Kent BK12 and even threw in an extra pass. A bit chilly today so perfect for Patchoulie Impérial.
We have an agreement, I don't say anything about violins or pianos and she doesnt not say anthing about shaving gear and watches.
Time for some variety, since I have been good about finishing off soaps I treated my self to tub of AoS cream. I forgot how good their creams are, excellent performance and the scent is nice too. The Japanese fortelling the future: the inscription on the blade say 'Real Japanese Hollow Ground.' I guess they were worried China would produce knock offs in the future. Excellent Japanese steel.
The gentleman corrected me in a post, saying my Clubman Special Reserve didn't TURN green, it WAS green to begin with, an old version. I guess that made me feel better. Right, great song by Simon&Garfunkel-"Parseley Sage, Rose Mary and Time". I'll leave Stinkmaster alone, you two deal with THAT.
In my case, I got BOTH. Actually, he didn't PIF it, I ordered it from the Clubman website, and it was green. I wonder if they ALL will be like that from here to eternity. I'm just glad the Original still has the...well..."ORIGINAL" color. I paid my third installment for my watch yesterday-one to go.
Does she let you say anything about fiddles(course they LOOK like violins, but more suitable for country&western music).
Sunday, May 18 Mitchell's Wool Fat (Cavendish infused)~~Simpson CH2~~Barbasol FH~~T. Habanero The infused wool fat turned out great. All the qualities of the OG w/the added scent of Cavendish pipe tobacco.
Back from Tokyo and time to catch up: I have not traveled for a long time so I brought along Tabac to ensure quality shaves. Two new purchases in Tokyo, Tom Ford Oud Wood and a high beat Grand Seiko. Of course the Karve razor was loaded with a Feather blade. Since I am inbetween 3017 this week is devoted to variety and finding the next target. My trip inspired me to use Japanese steel this week, this razor is my first JWest razor, Takayana Feon, hollow ground and takes and holds and excellent edge. I do enjoy the Awesome Sauce in the summer so it is a prime target. For a warm day why not at least smell like the Himalayas. Today's JWest steel is a Suzuki Niles 7/8 full hollow, yup the steel is excellent. For years my favorite boar was Omega Pro but this Zenith is excellent and tied in boar preferences now. In the bowl is another summer favorite and doubles as bug repellent, Stirling Electric Sheep, also a contender for the next 3017. As for stank SMN Aqua di Cuba, another warm weather favourite of mine.
