Those are some beauties on that thread for sure. As for Seiko divers, I’m a sucker for a few of the Pepsi Bevels- the iconic skx009 (with the super cool hands) or a turtle (with a rubber strap) .Either will look good in a sailboat on the lake in retirement.
Day 6 Another day, another good shave. With so many days straight of using Brut/ a Brut dupe, I've noticed a few things: 1. I'm now thinking about installing shag carpet in the living room 2. I need to get my wife to make some macrame 3. I just bought tickets for the Burt Reynolds film festival
Wednesday, June 21 AoS Rose Absolute~~Rubberset 400/3~~Barbasol Floating Head/Wilkinson Chromium Day One I am jumping straight back into my next 3017. Going with a rose, which many people say, is the best rose scented soap ever. Art of Shaving Rose Absolute. The label says brush or brushless, but I am here to tell you, this soap is as firm as the Lemon was AND, there's twice as much product. These tubs are quite deceiving. I'll post a demo tomorrow. Great shave with the FH/Light Brigade combo. No nicks or cuts. I finished with what will be a regular occurrence during this 3017, DR Harris Pink AS. Very mild. No alcohol. Non-lingering scent. I will mos def© still spritz a stank.
Thursday, June 22 AoS Rose Absolute~~Semogue 2012 SE~~1958 D3 Gillette Adjustable/Wilkinson Chromium~~D.R. Harris Pink Day Two Primo's really into this "using up soap thang". Rockin' the rose for the next month or so. Beeeeeautiful lather created, in part, by the Semogue "Mistura". For the 's in the house, that's a 50:50 Badger/Boar knot...sans black boar hairs. The Fatboy was a nice tool with which to shave. I set it at "5", but honestly, it matters not a whit. As long as I can get the blade to my skin, at the very least, a DFS shave will result. The D.R. Harris is a satisfactory splash. Mostly Witch Hazel---zero burn---fleeting scent.
Addendum. I may have spoken too soon. Me thinks I spy a black boar bristle. Now, if you all will excuse me, I have some minor surgery to perform...
Friday, June 23 AoS Rose Absolute~~Simpson M7~~Gillette #44 RFB/Wilkinson Chromium~~D.R. Harris Pink Day Three Rose is a beautiful scent. The AoS is stunning. The Gillette RFB is a nice tool and the Light Brigade made it a great shave.
Day 8 I went away from a fougere today. Love the Unconditional Surrender, but its days are numbered as well. Have a great weekend all.
Saturday, June 24 AoS Rose Absolute~~Vie-Long Beehive~~1947 Gillette Super-Speed/Wilkinson Chromium~~D.R. Harris Pink Day Four Final shave with the Light Brigade blade. Good 'til the last shave. I have had a lot of beehives in and out of my den and hands down, this Vie-Long is my favorite. The 3-Band Super Badger knot is silky soft. The handle is exactly my taste. Mos def© a "keeper". Not pictured is my stank juice: Oud Palao by Diptyque.
Sunday, June 25 AoS Rose Absolute~~Simpson PL8~~Böker Red-Injun No. 101~~D.R. Harris Pink Day Five Chose one of my favorite straight razors for today's shave. The Böker Red-Injun seems like it was designed for me and my puss. Excellent suds from the AoS. I am smelling like a rose.
June 25, 2023 Rex Ambassador Feather DK7 MdC Fougère Myrsol Agua Balsamica I am just back from a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise with the entire family. We had a fantastic time on the trip. It was fun to unplug and have the time to connect with the family and friends. I only shaved twice on the trip for the two formal dinner nights. Otherwise I was just too lazy. After the break, I am back to work on the MdC. I think I can have this one done and dusted around mid July.
