Fantastic trio and price! I got tired of looking for a Red Tip (after finding one that looked almost new for a Christmas present for my brother) that I finally broke down and bought one from Above the Tie. I had to spend something like $62.00 for it. The Red tip had been repainted and other than that the plating looks new and I figured for a razor of that quality that was over 50 yrs old and still looked new.... You have a hard time finding a new modern razor that isn't made of pot medal and I'm almost sure that when they wear out the Red tip will stiff be going strong.
They all look like they are in great shape, awesome find...again I'm jealous of you Americans and your cheap finds
Okay Okay?? For $9 you did ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!! You should definately go back next Sunday. If you can get a SE for as cheap a price get it. They can be real nice to shave with, I like the Gem 1912 and ER 1928's the best, also look for an ER Streamline(British)/ Gem Jewel SE(American) they are both rare and that would be a Great coup, especially finding one in the wild!!!....GOOD LUCK and GOOD HUNTING!!!..
I plan on going back on Sunday. They had several boxes of vintage GEM blades. I would imagine I wouldn't have any problem giving them away here.
The two other razors I believe were GEM's and they were in excellent condition. There was also GEM blades and a small silver metal Gillette Blade box. I found pictures of similar items on the net. I'm thinking I can get a deal on these also. If so I will either pass them out to newbies wanting an SE razor or will PIF them. What do you think? Should I get them if they're still there?
I would buy all they had in good shape @ $3 a pop. I do have a problem though! The closest I have come to a deal like that was a like new gold ball end tech and a cased Sheraton for $15. Found them at some hole in the wall shop near where I grew up.
$9 is an awesome price. I recently sold a blue star lady and a superspeed for $35 each. Yours look very nice. Congrats!
