When I was using modern blades though, my top 5 in no particular order Gillette 7 O'clock Yellow 7 O'clock Dark Blue Polsilver/Wizamet Iridiums Rapira Swedish Super Steels Gillette Silver Blues Blades are the most ymmv part of our thing, i.e. Feathers, so loved by some and so hated by others.

I have to admit, I don't notice a huge difference between blades. I've got several DE razors, and going back and forth between them changes the shave much more than swapping blades. But here goes nothing: 1. Feather - starts great, probably goes for more shaves before turning to garbage compared to other brands. 2. Wilkinson Sword - good, really cheap, also only blade I can buy in a store in my town. 3. Voskhod - good, cheap, strike against them is I have to order them. Seeing Cyrillic on the blades adds sense of mystique. 4. Merkur - maybe better than 2 & 3, but expensive. After that, I'd just be randomly grabbing names.
