I'm consuming my soap and cream inventory, but that will be a long process. I can see myself ending up and being quite happy with:

    MdC (scent)
Mike's Natural Soap (post-shave skin feel)
    Tabac (shave stick for travel)
TOBS creams (best cream for the money, IMO, and scents galore. Sandalwood is a favorite)

saponificio bignoli med citrus, lather and scent.
    tobs sandalwood ,scent.
    tabac ,well you know...
saponificio varesino felce ,lather and scent.
cyril r salter sandalwood. scent and lather.
all are easy for me to use, also too many others to really compare., love them all.

TOBS Sandalwood left my face bright red and itchy, and apparently it's a not- uncommon reaction to Sandalwood. Who knew.

My top 5 soap brands are:
    Stirling
B&M Glisant formula (Seville and Bay Rum)
B&M Reserve formula (by far the slickest soap I've used but it takes some time to learn to dial it in right. Load much less soap than normal and a lot of water)
    Caties Bubbles
    Sudsey Soapery

IMO TOBS does not come close to these 5 soaps in shave properties but smells great (I have the Jermyn ST. version).

Mitchell's wool fat. Nothing is slicker or has a better post shave.

Tiki bar soap. Close to MWF and has amazing scents

Mike's natural soaps. Just great performing soaps

Stirling. Best deal in shave soap. Tons of scents to choose from.

Mickey Lee soap. In my opinion they have the best scents of any soapmaker.

I’m still exploring the world of soaps. At this point I have 16 different scents of soaps with 8 of those samples and 8 full tubs. My top 5 are as follows:

    1) Stirling Barbershop
    2) Stirling Mountain Man
    3) Stirling Executive Man
    4) Van Yulay Into The Woods
    5) The Fat ‘as - Let me explain this one. I was a fan of both Haslinger Schafmilch and Mitchell’s Wool Fat. But each one seemed to be lacking in just one or two things. So it was suggested that I should grate some of each and combine them. And we named the combination The Fat ‘As. And the sum of the parts is superior to either of them alone. And this is the old tallow version of Haslinger.

I also use creams but didn’t mention those since the OP said soaps and not creams in the title.

Me too. But coconut scent in your soap doesn't come from actual coconut. I've never seen a coconut anything that wasn't scented with fragrance oil. I think coconut essential oil exists, just expensive and hard to work with. (Solid below 70°)

Interesting info....my very first experience with "shave soap" was with a coconut shave cream in a tub. (This was before I joined this group,. I believe). It got the job done, but I threw it out prematurely, as I felt it was too "coconutty".

Bath House Spanish Fig & Nutmeg
    Stirling Glacial __________
    Wickham's 1912 Irish Fern
    Wholly Kaw Vetivertal
    Antica Barbieria Colla

The Spanish Fig & Nutmeg is definitely #1. After that they are not necessarily in order. Or not the same order every day. In fact, #s 6 - 10 will drift in and out of this list too.
Anymore, scent matters as much to me as performance. The ones that are not absolute tops for performance are at least above a line where you'd be splitting hairs. We are indeed a spoiled bunch.

I don't know when the survey atop this page is closing, but I'm projecting Seasoned Shavers as the winner.

First time doing one of these surveys and I'm thinking on letting it run for a long time, it will tell folks if the Newbies are maybe still out there and lets us know the different soaps and how many are just a curious bunch. Not sure, if more folks object I will shut down the survey to keep some harmony among us.

Ah that's fine, I'm just used to the month-long ones(although some in fact have been up for longer).
