Hi fellers I am thinking of making a travel brush. What would make it perfect? Does it have to screw apart for example or is it sufficient to just be a little smaller than a home brush? Synth or badger? I will put it in a carbon fibre tube for transport and it will be ventilated!

I usually take a synthetic or a small brush, boar or badger 22-23mm.

I always use a synthetic for travel for the quick dry. The two piece handles don't do much for me. Maybe if the tube doubles as the handle. But that doesn't make for a very comfortable handle.

I'd be looking for a 20mm synth, comfy handle, travel tube.

I agree with most everyone... The sticking points for me are: Size 20-22 max; Must be Synthetic as they dry faster; Must have a flexible, fitted, and ventilated case/tube. Currently I use a Maggard brush with an Omega travel tube as they have a built in stand in the tube.

I agree. I just use a smaller brush in a vented tube.

If I remember correctly it stands ~72mm tall and holds a 24mm synthetic knot.

My travel brush is a Simpson Special 1 in Best Badger in a vintage Gillette travel tube. I only shave every other day when on vacation or when travelling for business, when I have to shave daily, the Special is perfect and dries quickly.
