I'm guessing that they are selling for less than $50.00 now?:happy102

never tried an adjustable..but i gotta say the Merkur HD is a fine razor. id take it any day over a vintage Super Speed. i like the 2 piece design also. the EJ razors are hot, lots of love for those. id skip the adjustable as my first and pick either the HD or the EJ.

    OK, cool, Thanks
I simply got the adjustables first, and for cheap, and I like moving parts.
    Thanks for the advice.

A super adjustable and a super speed. That's a super start. Both very good razors. Congrats.

Thanks to your help, I've managed a shave with the Merkur Futur, and now the whiskers are gone, my face is smooth, and I managed to keep the blood inside my body.

I've still only have a Van Der Hagan brush (new ones are in the mail)
I used TSD Iced Sub Zero pre shave balm (nice)
    Then TSD Signature Soap (slickery)
The Merkur Futur was loaded with an ISRAELI PERSONNA Super+ Platinum.
I started on the minimum setting, the I got brave, turned it up, and I survived!

Thanks again for the help and advice

You'll be making a winning decision with either the EJ or the 34C. I got them BOTH! My experience has been that the EJ will make just about ANY blade work, BUT, the 34C seems to be fussy & work best with sharper blades. YMMV, but this has been my experience. I got both thinking if one was lousy, I could return it & still have one that worked. They're both awesome! You have to use the right blades for them. Characteristics are the same, but they individually have their quirks as I've just listed. I liken my 34C to my gillette superspeed. It does AWESOME with sharper blades & similar results to my merkur w. milder blades. The EJ makes the milder blade issue a non-issue. I get an awesome shave w. my EJ, as it is my all around go-to razor when I'm choosing between the milder blades. I reserve my sharper blades for the 34C because I know they will work best there. These are things I've figured out over the past months. I would go w. the EJ AND 34C. I did!

For the next razor, buy the feather stainless!

    Nice choice

I've been going over the same models you have listed. The futur really looks good but the progress long handle does too! So, after all the reviewing and looking and studing... all the fun stuff by the way.. I am going after a Gillette Fat Boy! These have really got my eye right now. Oh I'm sure before too long I'm gonna have to have something new and shiney, but tried and true is screaming out to me in the night LOL! Great Pick, I hope it's still doing the job for you!
