Got a Turkish shave in today as well Brush: Semougue OC boar Soap: Derby stick Razor: Gillette black beauty Post: Dickensons witch hazel Aftershave: Pereja Lotion: Gillette aftershave lotion Did a 3 pass shave that turned out great. This seems to be my favorite Turkish shave set up right now.
For a Turkish Shave...hmm...there are a number of ways to go.. Turkish shavettes are certainly one....But when I lived in Istanbul I saw Ming-shi razors for sale at all the Barber Depots...course every berber uses the shavettes but a good Ming-shi should still pass since they are in the Berber Depots. Perma-sharp Super is the blade of choice of EVERY Turkish barber and for good reason. Arko seems to have the nod from all Turkish Berbers, unless they run out and then Derby from a local Bakal gets the nod. There is a "Fresh Mint" Arko Cream that has a nice menthol fix...veddy nice. Then there are a number if inexpensive Turkish after shaves and colonias...all good. Perma Sharp Supers are my favorite SE blade..in fact I would never use a DE razor except to be treated to these great blades. Oh Yeah! A horse hair brush would certainly add to the Turkishness of the shave. A Good Horse Brush Rocks...But in Turkey I did see Omega Boars for sale in many places. So I give them a Turkish reprive... Turkish Colonias in the Pereja style are great. My fave is the Rebul Lavanda....Hard to find in the states, but Definitely worth the effort!! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
My next DE razor purchase might just have to be an aristocrat. Everytime I see a pic of one. I tell myself that. For anyone that has used one. How aggressive are they?
dependent on the generation.if one compares them to fatboy/slim settings between 4 and 6.approx..slightly heavier than a fatboy, up to 82 grams for the gen 3 model..
Well....if you shake a bucket of molassas sweet feed, if it makes a nicker sound, then it's definitely "Horse"... Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
