I just finished my shave. This thing is so soft that I only feel the lather it whipped up a very nice lather with my AoS cream. It is a winner. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They are a pretty damn impressive knot. It is going to set you back a few more dollars than all of the plisson clones floating around, but I think it is well worth it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I said the very same thing. I only have one other synthetic to compare. It's a The Body Shop that I like, but the Tuxedo is better. Plisson seems to have been the winner, but I wonder now.
I have meant to check back in several times, but I am incapable of managing a schedule. The polishing of the 400-3 is underway and the Tuxedo knots are here. I have an early Peter Wolf (WolfWhiskers) brush he turned for me three years ago after a bunch of discussions about color and pattern (he was beyond patient with me!). Kind of a mix of butterscotch and tortoise on a black base. Believe it or not, Peter called the shape, Tuxedo! It has had two different Silvertip knots (temporarily) in it with which I have never been satisfied, so I think a Tuxedo knot should go in it, right? Not fully set yet, but have a look... Tom
The knot is 24mm diameter with approximately 7mm thick glue bump. The Tuxedo fits well in a B-400 25mm ferrule, and should also work in a Rubberset 400 25mm stock ferrule. Here are photos.

First shave with the Tuxedo this morning. (First shave with a synthetic!) Hot shower, Kiss My Face Lavender-Shea cream, ATT M2, Triad Stainless Steel Handle, GSB on its 10th shave. It may take a couple of shaves to get the water/cream ratio right, but the lather was good and long-lasting, the face feel of the brush was wonderfully soft and smooth, and if I had wanted to go three passes, there was still plenty of lather left in the brush. In fact, it took some effort to squeeze and rinse the excess out! As I said earlier, I can't manage a schedule, so work on the 400-3 has languished, but I am now looking forward to getting a Tuxedo knot into that handle, too. Tom
I have a black wolf tuxedo knot from wolf whiskers as well. I also have an older wolf whiskers brush in which I will be putting a tuxedo knot in (it is currently being shipped to me.) I will send a new pic when I receive and set the knot. Below are my brushes in their current States.
Looks great in that handle! What did you think about the knot? I have the AS from that company. Is the shave cream also peppermint scented?
Nothing but the best tonight. I wore my Tuxedo I am very impressed with this knot. It is the softest knot I have by a good margin. It does not have the backbone of my boars. That is a small price to pay. It makes lather so easily. Also i find it easy to modify the lather. As I am using straights tight now. I need to make the lather thinner for them. Just a quick dab of water snd I an in business. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The knot is super soft even more so than my plissoft or plisson. Like others I am experimenting with the water soap/cream ratio but can get a great lather easily. The shaving cream is also mint scented and a little dab will easily do a 2 pass with a really rich lather. The sickness isn't the best though, but that was a first for both knot and cream so I won't blame the cream yet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Good looking unit @RaZorBurn123 . Polished metal goes well with the Tux knot. Have you lathered with one yet?
Who still needs a Tuxedo? I've got this extra Tuxedo knot that I will PIF here: http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/tuxedo-synthetic-knot-pif.53490/ Also, not much is happening on the 400-3. I had oral surgery last week and look like I am trying to smuggle a cheeseburger in my cheek - no shaving for a few days.
