So, I got this ultra sound cleaning thingie for my birthday.
Is it any good for cleaning razors?
Do you mean an Ultrasonic Cleaner?
Yes, I might. It's one of those bowls with water that "rattles" the dirt out.
Yes. I use mine for that and a lot of other things. Eyeglasses for instance. Mine is a 2 liter so it holds quite a bit in the tub. I can clean about 150 rounds of 5.56 with mine at a time.
Mine is a small 0.5 liter I think.
Great, I'll try with an old razor then
It certainly won't hurt it unless plating is damaged or "flaky".
After reading one of these sites about 2-3 years ago it said to myself; self, I got to get one of those cleaners. So off to Amazon. Bought it, received it, and put it in the drawer right next to the electric scales( that some other site convinced me that I needed) and there it sits...NOS!!(both)
I have a smaller one which seems to work well. I use it to clean TTO's and Adjustable's mostly..
Could also be good for finding out whether it's a boy or a girl razor..
Like that George Foreman grill or my Foodsaver.
My dad had one when I was a kid. Ever since I've wanted one, once in a while, for some random stuff. Now I have it - I'm sure it'll get used from time to time.
I run my sunglasses through a cycle every couple of weeks. The cleaner is really good at getting oils out from between frames and lenses. Gotta watch out and make sure the frame screws weren't rattled loose though. I almost had a $60 lesson because if that.
You bet. I had a Black Beauty where the 1/4 turn lockdown didn't work. Took it to a friend at his jewelry store and after an hour in the US cleaner it worked fine.
I never knew it was supposed to lock down? Mine couldn't (and when I tried I destroyed it..).
All the Gillette adjustable have that 1/4 turn lockdown. If it doesn't work your razor most likely clogged with gunk.
No wonder mine broke then.. Haha. God rest it's soul.
