Shave report number 5: The big news with today's shave was the replacement of the twin NOS Personna II with a new Schick blade. No point beating around the bush, others have said it as well, this is a great combo. It wouldn't surprise me at all if it is the best combo period, full stop. The difference was in how smooth the strokes were and how the Bunny was gliding even more effortlessly over my face. The twin Personnas were not bad by any stretch but were more middle of the road in terms of being a smooth experience. They delivered wonderful results. But the Schick blade blew them away for sheer pleasure. I had a little over 48 hours of beard today and this is the most I've put the Bunny up against. So, I stayed with the Wild comb. Once again, by the second pass I could have done some touch ups and had a better than average DFS. If this were any other day, I would have stepped down a notch or two to the Notso or the Mild comb for the third pass. But being this is a chance to push boundaries a bit on a new razor I kept the Wild comb in. I don't think I would have tried this were it not for the difference in performance with the Schick blade. I was halfway done going ATG on my upper lip when I realized what I was doing. With the Personna II blade I had to be extra careful and had a little tugging to contend with. With the Schick blade, and using the Wild comb, I was just shaving away without any discomfort or challenge. I did pick up a few pin sized weepers which I believe I could have avoided by switching to a milder comb - or being less obsessed with nipping every bit of possible stubble. There is no question in my mind that the Bunny provides a shave equal to the PAL Injecto Matic and my type H Schick. These are the King and Queen of my den in terms of shave closeness and smoothness. What neither of these have, however, is the ability to adjust the blade exposure to match the shaving conditions. I'd also rate the Bunny as superior to both on the ease of rinsing any clogging. And, let's face it, no other razor comes even close to mimicking the visual appeal of Jessica Rabbit . So, to sum up, another shave that is my best yet with the Bunny. (Oh, as there has been some recent discussion about the design influence of the type H I have added a bonus pic comparing the heads of each.) Happy shaving - Karl
Karl, you beat me to it having your wife shave with the Bunny. I have converted TWGW over to traditional shaving, and after having her start with a Gillette Blue Starburst, I got her a Lady Eversharp, which she does like more than the Gillette. She has been using the LE for about a year and likes the results so much, that I managed to convince my 20 year old Granddaughter to change over as well. They both have their own setups with a brush and their favorite cream. Maybe I can be the first to post a video of my spouse shaving her legs with the Bunny.
