Using the Muhle R41 2011 has improved my technique

I've been using the Muhle for nearly a year and had the same experience with it that you did. It took me nearly 30 to 40 minutes, but now I'm done in 10. You will adjust to it with enough repetition. One thing I found that sped up the process was that I switched from feather blades to merkur blades. You probably already know this, but there is a huge difference between the two...feathers are as sharp as they come, and merkurs are very tame. Feathers are overkill for daily use with the R41 IMO

 

I haven't had very good luck with Merkur blades, but I do have Astras, Voshkods, Derbys, and a few others I can try in it. I did use Feathers for the first two shaves.
