My package from Portugal last week did not come with a tracking number and I found it to be so relaxing not to be checking on it. It arrived faster than I anticipated and in great condition.

I'm not sure that there's really a wrong way since Yiddish wasn't really written down until fairly recently. (Or so I've read.) Anything phonetically close is probably good.

I won an auction and the item arrived within 5 days from the US. That's quicker than most UK deliveries. I was most impressed.

My set of 1957 Encyclopedia Britannica's Dictionary has the translations for several languages. One of the written languages in their is Yiddish. It is based off German and was used by the Jews in Eastern Europe. Rumor has it, that it was created to keep others from following what you were saying. Kind of like when my parents used Pig Latin to keep me from understanding a conversation they were having. That worked till I got a book on Pig Latin.

That's the way it works, that's the way it's been set up and running for decades. I live in Portland, OR. If I get sent something from CA, it goes past me, up to Kent, WA for sorting, and then comes back down to Portland.

People have always written Yiddish using the Hebrew alphabet. It is the transliteration into the Latin alphabet that got standardized just recently (1920s?)
