I didn't care too much for the select either. When it comes to VDH, I like the deluxe so far and haven't tried the Luxury yet.
Do it dude. It'll be one of the best things you've done with your face. If you like menthol I recommend the Iced SubZero. It is great. And Jo's scent list is good and I haven't met one I didn't like yet. Money farts is good too
love the luxuary (have both)...and for what you get, and how readily available this is, it is IMO one of the best "bang for your buck" out there...the scent itself is one of my favorites in my den....love love love that stuff.
I'm not at all sure VDH is being dropped. It's still on their web site. Amazon accepted my order too.
I started with the VDH shave kit(green ceramic bowl, boar brush & Select soap) and I've used and liked all of the VDH soaps. I did like the Delux most however and still use it on occasion. I hate to to see it being phased out. It was not only an inexpensive, GREAT lathering soap for me, it was easy to find locally. Although as long as ARKO is still being made I honestly won't miss VDH Delux that much.
I've used the VDH Luxury twice this week and my comments are that it produces good lather, but it seems less slick and provides less cushion. I can't comment on the scent since the sniffer is down due to a head cold. To improve the cushion I'll probably add a drop of CO Bigelow cream to the soap and use it up. So it's more expensive ($2 more per puck) and not better IMO. I'll just order soaps on line moving forward.
