very cool Mac..a brit fb tech cap should be the same..like my 1945 #77 set..very efficient razor..

 

Give me until tonight. But I have used this Feather top cap on a Gillette pre war tech and it shaved a bit more mild. The cap appears to be ever so slightly more arched. I'm sure others have tried similar swaps and it would be interesting to hear their findings.

Gary, I've acquired enough News & Techs that I'm in a state of confusion most of the time. But since I've begun shaving with pre war Techs, New OC fb rfb and swapping parts, I've gotten the best shaves of my life. I HOPE you realize though that my shaving skills are excellent. I'm a very good shaver.

 

It has been a while since I have used one of my Gillettes. I keep getting interrupted with SE razors. I have been meaning to use this Gillette New Standard since January. Finally, I have the opportunity. I used it yesterday and today, and will use it through Friday. This is an awesome little razor. Here's what I have so far.

Ok guys, the Feather cap on my Brit RFB was a good enough shave (no nicks no cuts) but the shave wasn't any better that with a pre war cap. However, the pre war tech cap was better than it's original cap. I wonder why?

If I shave everyday, I'd prefer using the pre war tech or the #44 Brit tech. (Brit Tech and Canadian Khaki Set) there are no differences, my finding anyway. US Pre War is quite comparable to the fore mentioned razors. I really like the way the Feather covers the blade completely and protecting my schnoz from getting scraped.. All good shaves with the blades I use.

 

I'm one that doesn't change razors every day. In fact, when I find one I enjoy, I keep using it. I'm on a President kick for the past week, or so.
