I was anxious to use this combo all week. This morning loaded my Gillette New Deluxe, serial #123351 with a NOS 1960 manufactured (F1) Gillette Super Blue Blade.

Using a carbon steel blade gave me more of a sense of what this razor would have felt like on my face in the era it was released, when carbon steel blades ruled the market. The blade cut like it was made yesterday and has obviously been well preserved over the decades. Once I hit the sweet spot between cap and comb, it delivered an extremely effective, very smooth shave. Have a great weekend everyone!
