thank you Mike.yes sir it is.with its thick ball end aluminum handle..tha cap is narrower with a stronger curve as well.only fits this baseplate.quite a unique gillette design.made for only a year or so maybe..

Very neat. Unfortunately mine came attached to a very Fugly non gillette handle but I was drawn to the unusual double gillette logo on the baseplate.

 

the aluminum handles can be found quite easily as they are used on brit and french techs of the era as well.but any ball end tech handle will work fine..
