The Vintage Life Licorice Shave Soap lathered well with the Olivewood Silvertip Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Fat Handle Old Type Frankenrazor with a Personna Super blade (52) gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This brings to an end, for now, of my longevity test for the Personna Super Stainless blade. I added six more shaves to it for a total of 52 shaves. I will set it aside and continue at a later date.

 

DE SOTD, Sat, May 29th 2021

Razor: Gillette Golden Tech- Mfg 1940's, mild razor, nice handling, always liked the Gillette fat handle, like to use a extra wide Kai SS blade to give it a boost with a little extra blade feel.
Blade: Kai SS (5) excellent blade, extra wide compared to a Gillette standard blade by .009" thousands of a inch, or .0045 per side.
Sharp & smooth with great longevity. A bit pricy but having a tuck in the den for those mild razors is nice.
Soap: Razorock Lavender, nice scent + excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Moka express 26mm 2band badger- excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice scrub, great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock King Louis Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Gillette golden tech with a wide Kai SS Blade.

Bottom dial Fatboy w/Bic Chrome Platinum blade


Might as well parade the unicorn through this thread since it is a Gillette razor. I have to say it does shave well and not because it is a unicorn and has to be awesome for that reason alone. I've done 2 shaves on it with today being set at 8 on the dial. It gets me to a BBS finish but barely.
