My beater New Improved with thin 102 cap. This is definitely a thing. Smoothest shave yet from a New Improved. Polsilver (2). Now i need a beater Single Ring to steal the cap from. Hat tip @Rev579.

Is there another bay rum that you’d compare it to?

 

I'm pretty sure that is what was intended. My sample or reference is from this one:

 

2nd gen British Aristocrat with a Bic blade. I don't want to say this is the best Aristocrat I own but it certainly is for 2 of the 4 British versions I've used. I can't think of any other razor that has this much blade feel but is a really smooth shaver.

Really nice razor!

 

I think the Tuckaways have the 102a caps while the Bostonian and New Standard sets have the 102, but that is a guess on my part.

Starting tomorrow I am going to do a progression with the following 6 razors one shave each with a Bic and Ladas blade, ranking and comparing the results.
