It is, to me. First shave this morning with it, there is a very big difference between this razor and my TTO Gillette's.
It's hard for me to discribe but I can tell you it shaves great.
For something that was made when I was 3 years old this razor is in better shape than I am.

Hi all, last nights Vintage Gillette SOTD.
1957 Gillette Red Tip Super Speed. Vintage Wizamet Polsilver Blade. Honorable mention to Uncle Jon’s Soaps for his Sandalwood Shave Soap. It was a fantastic two pass DFS.

I really enjoyed it. First was the Senator. As I really like the Gillette old types I wasn’t sure how it would perform next to them. I thought it would be quite a difference. However, I feel like that old type oc is a more aggressive, closer shave I can still get there with the tto oc. I really like them. And they are very pleasing to use. I have only used my 34’ crat a few times and my 36’ British crat once. Against the Senator I think all three shave differently, but all three are a pleasure to use.

very cool, the old types were made for different blades.. my oldest favorites are the news..will acquire a brit oc tto at some point but no rush..

Thanks Gary. I love that blue brush you have in your SOTD post. Looks like a synthetic knot. Great color. I like the color coordination as well. Great photo man.

thank you, happy to finally own one..and not a crap one from the bay, all i saw were beat up and pricy...at some point in the future i would like a british oc aristocrat or popular in silver/ nickel/rhodium. that may be one of the last i purchase.then i have one of each type of gillette. i don't have a president, diplomat, toggle,or black super adjustable but don't have a real interest in them ..now a 49 executive maybe.. but $$$ for a nice set and that's what i would want..
