I'm sure it is repairable. I was just frustrated, having bought five other vintage Super Speeds, all of which are fantastic, to receive it from a reputable seller I've bought from before only to realize it's a lousy razor. (The misalignment is not terribly noticeable and I don't think he sold it to me knowing it was faulty). The funny thing is it's the most pristine of my vintage Gillettes. But pretty does not a good shave make!

 

In some cases i have found the prettiest or least used to have misalignment issues due to being dropped or damaged early in their life..owner drops it,gets a bad shave,ditches it in it's case and abandons it in a cupboard or other..my OC aristocrat was pristine,but bent,it was an easy adjustment,but was some collectors static display foe decades..

i just acquired this fine example.it's my oldest "superspeed" at present.the 1940 Milord Tech set.the plating is worn off the doors and part of the handle,but bare brass polishes up fine.mechanicall perfect and is a fantastic shaver.

Don't see (m)any probak blade around, guess they never did very well

 

thank you Chris.officially known as a Milord set.a friend has a complete ladies version and has offered it to me a while back.cool to look at but i wouldn't use it,so i didn't buy it..the Proback blades are from the forced Valet Autostrop buyout in 1929 when Gillette was caught fiddling the books.Probak blades and razors were Autostrop's original products,and the blades were carried along for a few years after the autostrop takover.all the goodwill razors and early New series were the result of that era.
in England/EU they acquired Rothbart and similar stuff happened there..
