Well...Didn't shave this morning as I was up at 4:00 AM for finals. Was planning on waiting till tomorrow to try out the NEW...but alas couldn't wait. Enjoyed a leisurely shave while wife made dinner :eatdrink047:

    SSDay_130509.jpg

Pre: Musgo Real PS Soap & Warm Towel, American Crew PS Oil
    Brush: 28mm "best"
Superlather: D.R. Harris Lavender + AOS Lavender Cream
Razor: 1930's Gillette NEW Open Comb
    Blade: Astra SP (1)
    Post: ASB + Aqua Velva

Absolutely loved this little shaver. Excellent shave. My first with anything other than my Merkur 38C HD. These razors are very different! I must say that even though I'm not quite as used to this one, I already like it better! It is actually a much smoother and closer shave than the 38C. Can't wait to get better with this one like the Merkur.

    Thanks Nick!!!

Moved the Astra SP over to my '67 Gillette Slim Twist. Result - a darn fine shave. I like it!

Gillette Platinums are rock stars in a Weber. I just put my last blade in but it should last through Sunday easy enough. Wish they worked better in a vintage razor for me but I'm glad I found a razor they do work well in for me.

I tried a new soap today. Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna. It's not as slick as Arko but I really love the scent. I hadn't tried a triple milled soap yet and wanted to. Got a nice BBS on the face and near BBS on the neck with no nicks or irritation. :) This soap probably isn't going to be a "must keep in stock" sort of soap but I'll enjoy it once in a while for sure.

It's the weekend, and that means is time for my SEs.
Saturdays are for my str8s, Sundays for the more traditional SEs.

Today being Sunday, it was my Gem Jr. Lather Catcher. I'm figuring this thing to be about 100 years old - still giving up great shaves!

Im glad i found this thread, i was looking for a place to post about todays shave... My dad has a little collection that belonged to his dad he doesnt use it. So i brought over soap and blades to use my grandfathera gear. The razor says otto roth inc on the bottom. And the brush says steralized set in rubber made in the u.s.a the logo is too faded to make out it has a first letter g in an oval is this gillet? The old brush preformed very well.....after the shave i splashed on some very old spice from a shulton spyglass decanter...if anyone knows about the razor or brush let me know thanks

Actually if you want to post your daily shave, post here, in the Shave or Shower (SoS) of the Day thread. A new thread is started every week, so pay attention to the dates.

If you want more folks to see and respond to your question about your razor, I would suggest starting a new thread in the Safety Razors Forum. Click on the red POST NEW THREAD button on the right side of the page, just a little ways down from the top.
