As an update, this blade continues to be a top performer for me. I am getting wonderful shaves with a variety of soaps and creams......still using my Krona and Gillette Black Beauty Long Handle Adjustable. Since my only other razors are a Fatboy, a '47 SS, a Slim Adjustable, and a '58 TV SS, I should try the blade in them. Wish I would have discovered these guys a long time ago.
I am firmly in the Voskhod camp. They've worked for me in my SA-109 and my Gillette Super Speed Black Tip. I usually get a week's worth of shaves, with no tugging or pulling. The jury is still out as far as my Schick Krona, but after today's shave, it's looking good! If you haven't tried 'em yet, give 'em a shot. All you have to lose are your whiskers!
Second shave with the Voskhod this morning. Using a newly learned technique(J hooking), I got my lower neck smooth for the first time.
Day 5 for the Voskhod. This morning, I noticed a slight drop off. She's still ahead of the GSB and Shark, but we'll see how the final day goes Friday. Still ahead on points.
Yes - however they are all made in Russia as well. The Personna Lab Blue is probably the equivalent in smoothness and not made in Russia. They are also very sharp. The medical profession uses them and they are about the only blade still made in the USA. Do not confuse them with the other Personna blades which are made in Israel - those are totally different blades.
The Col. is personally trying to cripple Russian MBT & IFV manufacturing by buying up as many blades as the law allows.
The Voskhod shaves its last for the week today. There was a slight fall off. About the same as the Shark Super Chrome. Both of these passed the GSB. So now the 7 o'clock Green comes up on Sunday. A three way tie would be very interesting. I've got flexibility in my Black Tip, as I could go either with the Voskhod or Shark.
