here is one of my 4 restores going on right now. this is a W.R. Humphrey & Company Black Cat Cigarettes blade on bloodwood scales with a wenge spacer. still working on getting everything lining up, but getting better. 2 coats tung oil with a textured CA 2 coat finish polished up with MAAS by hand. used adjustable pins, however pins not done. the original hex nuts i got were not the 'scale' size. (very important to note. ) also, yes that is some staining on the blade. maybe when i get the new hex nuts in i will get that staining off. going to a friend so not that concerned. i still need to hone and shave, but i will wait until after our texas hone meet up to do that. comments as always welcome. vgod
Looks great! Seems like a lot of people are having a go at making scales these days. I have some material so I might just have a try soon too
