    Bellroy are pretty good.
I've had a similar experience with cheap leather wallets falling apart quickly. If you're looking for something durable and stylish, check out the leather wallets from Von Baer. Judging by the price, their craftsmanship is top-notch, using high-quality leather that's designed to last for years.

Bellroy are overpriced for the quality of the product you receive. If you like them, fine. There are other wallets in the same price range that use better materials and have better craftsmanship, in my opinion.

If it makes you feel better, I've used Fossil wallets for the past decade or two. Good wallets for the price... if you buy them at a factory store for a discounted price, and can dig through stacks of them to find a model with the right combination of features to be a good wallet. For those reasons, I would never recommend them to others.

I expect a decent wallet to last 3 years.
I expect a good wallet to last 10 years.
I expect a great wallet to last decades.
Unrealistic expectations? Perhaps. This is just my lone opinion after all.

I'm pretty hard on my wallets. Full grain leather is what people should look for in a wallet at a minimum. RFID blocking, hand stitching, etc. all comes after finding full grain leather. There's no justifiable reason to cheap out on something you'll carry daily. Spend the money on quality, not on a brand name.

Best wallet I ever owned was a $20 no-name hand made replica of a civil war era wallet, rather crudely sown together. I carried it as a wallet for 20 years before retiring it for something a bit more practical. But I still have it and still use it occasionally as a tobacco pouch these days. I've been tempted to go back to using it as a wallet lately though...

Agree. I carried this (chrome tanned full grain leather) Saddleback Leather large bifold wallet daily for several years. The leather wore through to the liner on one edge. It came with a lifetime warranty, and SBL replaced it for free. Great company, great products. I could have carried it for several more years without issue. In fact, the leather took on a very nice patina, which took years to develop. This particular wallet was large, but quite thin and easy to carry.
