I enjoy craps and then black jack. My success measure is minimizing my loss per hour. I consider it entertainment. My last trip to Vegas really turned my off, service was horrible, prices were crazy and the vibe on the strip is ... well I wish I had a gun with me. I haven't been in Macau since before COVID. I enjoy Macau, the hotels are nice, no resort fees, free wifi and some hotels even have free mini-bars. But almost no craps tables, few blackjack tables but bacaraat as far as the eye can see. The casinos floors are so big you can see the curvature of the earth. Some amazing Portuguese restaurants and the sin in Macau is much better than Vegas. Plus it is just a 3 1/2 hour flight for me versus 14 to Vegas.
That, in a nutshell, is why I do my gambling downtown rather than on the Strip. Generally speaking, there's lower prices on food and lodging, lower table limits, and friendlier service. There are always cops roaming the Downtown area, too. If trouble breaks out, the authorities are there right away to address it.
The bill changer is the only machine that gives me a payout regularly. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
I'm with you on craps! It's such an engaging game, and I love the feeling of control it offers. Plus, the better odds make it even more exciting. Rolling those dice adds an extra layer of thrill to the casino experience.
@Angelo85, your enthusiasm for craps is evident, and it's fascinating to hear why it's your favorite casino game. The level of player influence it offers truly sets it apart. While craps is undoubtedly a unique and engaging game, it's also worth exploring other casino options.
I'm more of a Macau fan myself – those hotels with no resort fees and free wifi are a game-changer. Shame about the lack of craps tables, though. I'm all about minimizing losses too, so I get where you're coming from. Baccarat central in Macau, huh? That's wild! And man, those Portuguese restaurants sound like a dream. By the way, have you ever tried the bonus cash back slot? Heard it's a hidden gem. Anyway, excited to be here, share more stories, and maybe pick up some new casino tips!
I think that Craps is a solid choice for a favorite casino game! It's unique in the sense that the player's roll can really impact the outcome. That element of control adds an exciting twist to the game.
I haven't been to a casino in almost 30 years. I used to go once or twice a year before I was married -- over a period of maybe 2 to 3 years -- not much really. Atlantic City. Would bring $300 in cash. All you can eat buffet for around $15. It was a day/night of fun with friends. Didn't really care if I won or lost -- because I always lost, lol. It was fun playing things like blackjack. It was paying $300 for an evening of entertainment, like going to a broadway play, or Disney World. At least you do have a fighting chance to win if you educate yourself on the odds for a given game. Now lotteries are throwing your money out the window. For everyone reading this -- you will never win that big jackpot. That's right -- it's a true statement. I guarantee that no one on this forum will ever win the big jackpot on a lottery ticket. That's how bad the odds are. You have a better chance of finding a bag full of cash on the street. But to the OP's question -- blackjack.
I totally get what you mean about the odds, too. Craps does seem to offer better chances compared to some other casino games, which can be pretty enticing.
I love playing blackjack at the casino. It's all about strategy and the thrill of getting that perfect hand. But when I'm not playing blackjack, I like to try out different slots.
I've never been to Macau, but your description really makes me want to check it out. The idea of enjoying some Portuguese cuisine while taking in the sights of those massive casino floors sounds like a dream. And you're right, the hassle of Vegas can sometimes overshadow the fun of the games. I'm actually new here and just stumbled upon this thread. I'm more into sports betting myself.
My favorite is blackjack, too. There’s a thrill in strategizing each move, figuring out whether to hit, stand, double down, or split. It feels like a mental challenge against the house, and using basic strategy can really slim down the house edge, making each decision crucial.
I’ve been in casinos five times in my life. First was in Las Vegas. A loooong time ago I worked for the Hoover Company. One year, the annual sales meeting was held in Vegas. Back then, there were $3 blackjack tables (I doubt that still exists). So, I, the big-time gambler sat down at a table with 5o Big One’s burning a hole in my pocket and started to play. What a hoot! I sat there from about 7 in the evening until a little after midnight when my money ran out. Great thrills and excitement! And as long as I sat there and played, the drinks kept coming, gratis. Wonderful memories The other four times were all with Gayle. Three times on cruise ships. Gayle enjoyed the slot machines. I didn’t play, but instead watched her have fun. It was a beautiful thing seeing her great excitement (thanks for bringing back these memories!!!). The last time we were in a casino was in Niagara Falls, maybe 15 years ago. We were strolling along the tourist strip one evening when from out of nowhere it started raining cats and dogs. We ran into the closest building which happened to be a casino. Gayle found a slot machine and started feeding it. After a few minutes it started to ding and flash like crazy, and then coins started falling out. As the money was pouring, Gayle had a huge sheet-eating grin on her face and I was in her ear calling, “Cash out, cash out!” She won almost $700 that night. After that, whenever any machine dispensed anything at all, we’d look at each other and smile while remembering her fun night in the casino.
I had a similar experience once at a cruise ship casino. My partner and I were just casually walking around, and I decided to try my luck at blackjack. I wasn’t expecting much, but I ended up winning a decent amount that night. The drinks were free, too, which was a nice bonus! Gayle’s big win in Niagara Falls sounds fantastic! Those unexpected moments of excitement are always the best. I
